Which of these structures are you more comfortable stretching out to? Songs with one-chord/ modal vamps or complete verses and choruses?
A sax player bandmate of mine used to shy away from one chord structures, saying its more difficult coming up with a flowing and crafted solo than playing over standards with definite changes.
Tips and techniques most welcome. :)
