Isang Russian Sub ang naglakas loob na mag-stroll sa Gulf of Mexico, sa mismong doorstep ng United States. At hindi man lang na-detect ng US Navy.

i'm into ww1 and ww2 stuff. mostly german ww2 militaria.

anyways, i'm into scale modeling also because of my fascination of military subjects. just wanna share a scale model that i built and painted of the german ww2 battleship "tirpitz". she's the sister ship to the more famous german ww2 battleship, the bismarck.

ang mali lang talaga ng allied forces after the war dapat di nila hinayaan ang soviet union mag hari dapat lahat ng sinakop na bansa ng soviet union ibinalik nila  after the war. pagkatapos magpadala ng logistics ang us sa russia nung operation barbarossa the allied forces should have never dealt with a tyrant, thief like stalin that guy is a monster a butcher. she even killed her own wife and even attended her funeral.:-o

was the united states goverment or FDR aware of the atrocities committed by stalin in russia before world  war 2 started!?

but they'd all come close to bombing the [gooey brown stuff] out of each other.

in ako dito sa thread - i'm deeply interested in world war history, especially the pacific theatre between the japs and murrikans

as far as collections go, i'm a plane kinda guy - up until recently i'd kept a collection of various nato and warsaw pact planes, i prefer those from the 50's-70's planes which i think are far more graceful in terms of design.

So I just watched this National Geographic Movie, seal team six: OSama Bin Laden...

interesting, but whats interesting are the afterstories...like there was this big crash that killed a lot of seal team 6 members..was it a silencing tactic? and the CIA lady..who led to the discovery of Binladens hide out was a b*ch and unliked in the CIA, didnt get a promotion etc..

what are your thoughts on this

Sa ancient times naman, you might wanna watch "Battles BC" documentaty from History Channel. Isa sa series featured yung kay Moses in which historians regarded him as a military commander/tactician rather than a religious leader, and etc. etc.

could've been staged to protect the identity of the seals OR outright silenced. but i don't understand why they need to be silenced, pride ni Uncle Sam that her SEALS killed who's probably the most wanted man in history. they won't be of much use dead anyways.

dun sa chic naman sa CIA, well, if you a bitch then prolly the boss won't hand you a promotion.  :)

Great source of films in how the City of Manila was taken, my dad at that time was 18 years old and told the story that many civilians died in there scattered all over Manila. He even witnessed how a Japanese soldier was captured and beaten up and buried alive by angry civilians.

I found a website ( http://www.militaryhistoryonline.com/wwii/articles/macarthursfailures.aspx ) (http://www.pacificwar.org.au/Philippines/Philoverview.html)  on some interesting arguments why given the fact The Philippines was attacked 9 hrs later Pearl Harbor and caught off guard not because of they where unprepared but the indecisiveness of McArthur. They where informed of the attacked and given instructions but almost immobilized because of failure of decision from the top.

Warriors of the White War emerge from their frozen tomb:  Almost 100 years after losing their lives in ferocious First World War battle, melting ice reveals the bodies of the fallen

The mummified bodies of soldiers who fell in the First World War 100 years ago are still being uncovered as glaciers melt - and experts say there could be many more to come.

Corpses emerge every time there is a hot summer in Trentino, a rugged part of the Italian Alps where countless men were shot, starved or froze to death in a three-year campaign.

Whenever the gruesome finds appear, archaeologists must act within hours - because not only do the bodies decompose, they are also looted by opportunistic thieves.

'I don't deserve this': WWII veteran who refused the Purple Heart when he was the lone survivor after his B-17 went down in France finally accepts it 70 years on
Richard Faulkner was only 19-years-old when his plane went down over Nazi-controlled Germany
He parachuted into hostile land as the only survivor and was injured in a rough landing
Faulkner refused a Purple Heart because he couldn't cope with being the only member of the crew that lived

An 89-year-old World War II veteran who initially refused a Purple Heart medal finally received it Saturday in Upstate New York.

Richard Faulkner was only 19-years-old when his B-17 bomber went down in March 1944, he was the only survivor and was badly injured – but he refused the Purple Heart.

Faulkner decided to receive the medal now after regretting not doing so earlier,  he wanted to leave a legacy to his grandchildren.

German soldier's kindness denied Tommy war grave

A dying soldier's last wish for a photo he was found holding to be returned to his family was fulfilled by the German who killed him, as personal stories marking the centenary of World War One emerge.
Sergeant Percy Buck clutched the black and white photo of his wife Bertha and young son Cyril as he lay fatally wounded in a shell hole on the Western Front in 1917.
On the back, he had written his address and asked for whoever found the photo to post it to his loved ones in the event of his death.

and of course the hummingbird, developed in part by the late capt. panfilo villaruel

assembled kits from other countries were also done here - GkN Simbas are a prime example which is still in army use. the Temco Pinto trainer was also supposed to be assembled here, which would've made it the first assembled jet trainer here.

How Hitler's photographer returned to Dachau concentration camp to take series of chilling images five years after those who survived torture and death at the hands of the Nazis were set free

Even though they were taken in color, the images of Dachau concentration camp, where tens of thousands were imprisoned and killed by the Nazis, appear bleak and foreboding.

What is even more chilling than the sight of drainage ditches to catch the blood of victims, or the images of gas chambers, is that the man behind the camera in 1950 was Hugo Jaeger - one of Hitler's personal photographers.

kailangan gawin ni mcarthur na protektahan  si hirohito because the people of japan revere hirohito  magkakagulo sa japan  pag nakulong sya. kaya ginawa nilang scape goat si pm tojo kahit nagpakamatay na binuhay pa nila to stand war crimes. pero ang mastermind talaga si hirohito me documentary ako noon kahit yung mga american historian sinasabi nila na si hirohito me kagagawan.

MacArthur made him renounce the imperial claim of divinity but kept him in place because he figured Japan will collapse if Hirohito was booted out. Pero oo, grabe yung topic ng comfort women. But as soldiers, I greatly admired their courage and determination.

I agree with Mozart - none of Japan's war plans would've been fulfilled without the consent of the Emperor.

Family of man who died in World War I opens 98-year-old time capsule

Pvt. Edward Ambrose died while fighting in the Great War in 1916. His distraught family was unable to look at the belongings found in his leather case, which was shipped to them, and after being nearly forgotten for 98 years, Ambrose’s 82-year-old nephew finally saw what the time capsule contained.

A moving time capsule containing the last belongings of a dead soldier his family couldn't bring themselves to look at has been found in an attic after 98 years.

The possessions of Pvt. Edward Ambrose were sent home from the Western Front to his devastated parents after he was killed at the Somme.

Too painful to look at, the poignant items were shut into a leather case and put into storage where they remained for almost a century.

The case has now been opened by Pvt. Ambrose's 82-year-old nephew, who recovered it after reading about an appeal for untold stories for a local World War I exhibition.

Mystery of the underwater time capsule is solved: Perfectly preserved Nazi plane is identified as troop carrier on its way to hell of the Eastern Front

A belt buckle bearing Nazi insignia, a shaving brush and a pair of boots were among items found within a sunken World War Two war plane which have helped to solve the mystery of its disappearance.
The Luftwaffe plane was found at the bottom of the Black Sea by a team of divers nearly 70 years after it vanished mid-flight.
The fate of the aircraft and its nine crew members had remained a mystery since it was reported missing in 1942.
Underwater photographer Andrey Nekrasov, 42, was part of the team which found the wreckage 23 metres beneath the surface off the Ukrainian coast, near Odessa.

Inside Hitler's bunker: Photographs reveal the blood-stained furniture and debris inside the hideaway where Adolf and Eva Braun died after the fall of Berlin

These haunting images show the inside of the Führerbunker - the underground hideaway where Hitler and Eva Braun took their own lives after the fall of Berlin.
The death of Adolf Hitler, then 56, and Eva Braun, 33, in the heart of Berlin on April 30, 1945, is widely regarded as the fall of the Third Reich.
The couple lived the last few months of their lives together in the Führerbunker - with Hitler controlling his failing military operation from the base.
They are even thought to have wed in the hideaway the day before their suicide

The horror of the First World War: Veteran photographer who has covered conflicts for 50 years picks six photographs that show the true desperation of the Western Front

For nearly 50 years, photojournalist Don McCullin covered wars across the world, from Biafra to Vietnam to the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
He is known for his hard-hitting, uncompromising coverage, exposing the horror of soldiers fighting to the death and the tragedy of innocents caught in the crossfire.
These six pictures have been hand-picked by the veteran reporter to reveal the desperate reality of life on the Western Front for British soldiers during the First World War.

Revealed: How Nazi officers led by top general formed secret army AFTER the war and planned to overthrow Allies who occupied Germany

Nazi soldiers formed a secret army and plotted to attack the Allies who occupied Germany after the end of the Second World War, according to recently unearthed documents.

A group of 2,000 soldiers from Hitler's Wehrmacht, including senior SS officers, formed the covert group with the aim of restoring 'honour' to their homeland, which had been split into two states and ravaged by fighting.

The group spied on left-wing politicians, stockpiled weapons and planned to recruit 40,000 of its own soldiers to attack opposing forces, including the Soviets occupying East Germany, and the newly-formed republic in West Germany.

This Man Dedicated Many Years Of His Life To Chronicling WWII Submarine Vets' Dangerous Work

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Serving aboard an American submarine was one of the most dangerous assignments in World War II, with nearly 1 in 5 crew members losing their lives somewhere in the ocean depths.

Paul Wittmer of suburban St. Louis has spent years working to ensure that those men — more than 3,600 sailors — are remembered, including a book that has been years in the making.

Hollywood Director George Stevens Made Incredible Color Film Diaries Of World War II

When film director George Stevens swapped the glamor of Hollywood for the horror of battle after America entered World War II, he brought with him his home-movie camera.

Stevens' film diary includes incredible color footage from his war days -- from the D-Day invasion of Nazi-occupied France in 1944, to the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp Dachau. The Telegraph reports that after Stevens' death in 1975, his son George Stevens Jr. discovered the footage in his father's attic and used it in the Emmy award-winning documentary "George Stevens: D-Day to Berlin."

The gun that nobody wanted, but everyone needed

Once upon a time there was a gun made in France made to save The Republic in its darkest hours. Lightweight and with plenty of firepower, it promised a revolution in guns for the fighting man. It was so easy to build a bicycle company could make it — and did.

It was called the Chauchat, and it was the worst machine gun ever made.

Video: D-Day veteran Jock Hutton parachutes into Normandy once again at the age of 89

The moment he landed the proud former member of the Parachute Regiment donned the red beret and then shook hands with the future King of England

It was the second time Jock Hutton has parachuted into Normandy. This time nobody was shooting at him.

The moment the 89-year-old veteran landed yesterday he proudly donned the red beret which marks him out as among the bravest of the brave, a former member of the Parachute Regiment.

Dusting himself off, he then marched across the field to shake hands with the future King.

It was a stark contrast to the moment, 70 years ago, when Jock - the a Private - dropped into France to begin the battle to free the country from the Nazis.

to the brave men and women who died on that day.....

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

The successful 70-year campaign to convince people the USA and not the USSR beat Hitler

In 1945, most French people thought that the Soviet Union deserved the most credit for Nazi Germany's defeat in World War II — even though the Soviets didn't play much of a role in France's liberation, relative to the US and Britain. By 1995 and 2004, however, the French had changed their minds, and were crediting the US as the biggest contributor to victory in Europe:

Philadelphia Man, Former Nazi Maybe Extradited to Germany

He didn’t run, he didn’t disappear. The former Nazi lived peacefully in a Philadelphia row house, sometimes feeding treats to his neighbor’s dog.

Johann Breyer’s true identity had stopped being a secret decades ago, at least to the U.S. government and the dwindling number of Nazi hunters who knew his name.

Hitler's secret millions: Nazi leader dodged £1.75m in tax and even charged a royalty for his image to be used on stamps, new documentary claims

Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler squirrelled away a massive fortune using cash he had 'earned' from his image rights and personal appearances as well as his refusal to pay £1.75 million in income tax.
The Fuhrer even levied a royalty on German stamps featuring his image, with the cash hidden in his secret bank accounts.
The mystery surrounds a secret will discovered by Herman Rothman, a German Jew who operated with British intelligence during the Second World War.

^ because the F/A-18 is a development of the F-18, which was a competitor against the F-16 for lightweight fighters. it's simple and effective compared to 4.5/5th generation fighters. The YF-18 lost the USAF contest, but was taken in by the USN. Unlike the YF-32 and X-35, US DoD decided that their armed services are to use pretty much the same airframe, kaya lumaki ng lumaki budget

like what happened to Adolf Eichmann.

what bothers me is why the Mossad, or other Nazi Hunters, willingly violate a nation's sovereignty to
the former Nazis back to Israel. hindi ba dapat sa international court managot mga ganyan?

Thats because Israel does what it wants and doesnt care who he tramples or murders.
I too am fascinated by these 2 world wars but i just came across the reasons why they happened and that is the real tragedy.

It felt like my brain was thumped out and placed in a blender.
Nasty stuff those Jewish communist, double crossing bankers.

Im am now considering buying a Leica M6 just coz of Germany.
