Wide Angle for DX format cameras
« on: October 06, 2010, 05:52:43 PM »
Hi guys,

Can you please recommend affordable wide angle lenses for dx format cameras? Im planning to buy my very first Wide Angle lens to be used on D60 and D5000 body. I've read an article from ken rockwell enumerating the best 4 candidates. But im still looking for opinions. thanks!

http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/digital-wide-zooms/comparison.htm

please do share your photos and include the body and the lens used! thanks!

Magkaano yan? Malaki ba price difference compared sa Tokina 11-16mm f2.8?

mas ok ang 11 16, more expensive though... ken rockwell thinks that the tokina is the best alternative, kung wala kang pambili ng nikkor... others even say that if not same, even better than the nikkor...

whenever i buy a lens, i read reviews muna then check sample images...

the tokina served me well, unfortunately after trying a nikkor 105mm vr, napaisip ako bigla... am i missing something?

i am now bothered, since i haven't tried the expensive lenses of nikon like the 24 70, 17 55, 16 35, and the amazing 14 24...

parang gitara din, pag nakagamit ka ng gibson, ayaw mo na gumamit ng fernando...

conclusion? maraming factors to consider sa pagpili ng lenses, anjan na distortion, chromatic aberration, flare, ghosting, etc...

in the end, you'll maximize lang what you can afford... and marami din factors to get a sharp decent photo, hindi lang ang lens, sabi nga nila, nasa gumagamit yan...

Wide angle? i'd recommend the nikkor wide zooms like the 17 55, 16 35, or even the 14 24, or 12 24... kung madami ka pambili...

on a budget? sigma 10 20mm and the tokina 12 24 or the 11 16 will do... i've tried the 12 24 Tokina, but of course, i want the Nikkor 14 24mm, kaso wala pambili...

here is one photo i took with my 12 24 Tokina...

since it's for D60 and D5000, get the Tokina 12-24 F/4 'cause it has a built-in motor. Don't get the Nikon, it's expensive. LOL

Niikor 18-70 or the 18-55mm.

18-70 on a tripod, D80 body

18-55mm VR Handheld, D90 body
