Here is a rock icon who grew up in Omaha Nebraska and was known to many of the good musicians I had the fortune to have known and played with while attending college in Omaha. Buddy Miles of "Them Changes" fame, Jimi Hendrix's drummer in Band Of Gypsies and with Mike Bloomfield in Electric Flag. He was known to Omaha 24th and Lake area musicians as "Fat Buddy". As the stories told to me by Omaha guys that knew him, Buddy would go up on stage, while a band was playing, kick the drummer off his set, and start playing. I saw Buddy Years later when he headlined for Weather Report with Joe Zawinul.
