Dude this aint the classifieds, no need to bump the thread up continously.

Maybe just a gentle reminder one week before the event. After all, it is a month and a half away.

Some guys cannot even make plans with such a long horizon. I might be out of the country at those dates myself.

I recently purchased a pair of NS10ms. I was wondering if I could use our old panasonic cassette deck/amplifier with the speakers. Model: SU-CH40

here are the specs:

Power: 50/60hz
120W

My Yamaha NS10ms:
Rated power: 25 watts
Max power: 50 watts
Impedance: 8 ohms

Hope you guys can help me out!

As allen points out, there are some advantages to using commercial amplifiers in the studio and they are a matter of personal taste and adjustment.

The textbook approach tho is to use what's known as a "reference amp" which is tuned to be "flat" (no tone controls).

It can only cause damage if you blast the tone control up high.

But I don't think you can withstand 120 watts of nearfield power. Not even 50 watts of nearfield power hehehe.

Thank you for the advice! I'm actually getting to know the speakers. I got used to my krks and it takes a while to adjust to the lack of bass and the boosts in the mid/high frequencies.

Any advice on mixing with the NS10s?

While correct pala yung sinabi ko about the tone control, what I actually meant was to blast the volume control way high.

So start at zero and just raise it gently until you arrive at your operating loudness.

No advice on mxing with NS10's kasi it didn't work for me. The two songs I mixed with it sucked (lol). I guess it takes some getting used to and I'm spoiled by my current setup, bass-wise.

listen to your favorite songs ( yeah but different genres' is a must ) with the NS10. From that point, START TWEAKING YOUR "FLAT" EQ as the sound that you wish...
