As to date here are the list of Beatles Fans who expressed intent to join.

1. Endshiftresign- Drums
2. Ninejuicyjulius- Guitars/ Wild vocals
3. Dreamhaus09
4. Stringman- Guitars
5. Burnsbhm- Guitars/ Harmonica/vocals/ keyboard
6. Slowhand- Guitars/ vocals
7. Obetskie- Guitars
8. Mocho- drums?
9. Lennon/Mccartney- Guitars/ vocals
10. Constipation-Guitars/Harmonica/ Vocals/ Ukelele/Bass

The more the numbers the merrier it will be..

Calling keyboard players out there

Note: sir Obetskie is still in Singapore teaching music, I'll PM him for confirmation of his intent to join
But how about sirs Mocho and Dreamhaus?

I guess it would be better if we set a time table. We may not wait for a keyboard player to join in. Instead we may just try to minimize numbers that require keys. Sir Bryan may likewise select the songs

A very promising four piece group called The Satelites Band is keen on joining us. They're very good! Rey can sing like Lennon or Ely Buendia, they're bassist and drummer are likewise very good players. The're music is heavily influenced by The Beatles that's why they want to be part of the event. They are probably lurking every now and then but WE haven't taken any clear direction yet bro, we should take more steps forward despite of our tight schedules :-)

the satellites?  kilala ko ang mga yan, mainly their vocalist jojo (the_godfather on PM)...   :-D  also, me and julius are forming our own beatles-influenced group, although we figure to be strongly influenced as well by garage rock.  brokensauce can join in as well...since this power trio has two beatlemaniacs in the band - me and the bassist whom i mentioned in my previous post.   :-D  metal yung gitarista namin pero very willing to adapt to other genres...

but otherwise i'm just happy to help organize this thing at maki-jam na lang in case none of my bands can participate...

3 bands, 3 sets? If I got you right then the load will be lighter bro.   we are barely two (2) months away and yes you're the only drummer, I'm not sure with Sir Mocho..

3 bands, 3 sets? If I got you right then the load will be lighter bro.   we are barely two (2) months away and yes you're the only drummer, I'm not sure with Sir Mocho..

in my estimation, brokensauce can play about 6-8 songs.  we focus on playing our compositions, but we do cover '90s alternative songs in the '90s-themed production where we're semi-regular.  beatles songs may take a bit of practice, especially for our guitarist, but i think mastering 6 to 8 songs by december should be simple enough pag nagamay na naming lahat...

suggestion:  let three bands perform half of each set, tapos tayo-tayo ang magjajam for the second half of each set.  for example, brokensauce does half of set 2, playing about 7 or 8 songs.  our "all-star band" would then tackle the remaining songs in set 2, parang intermission of sorts before the next actual band takes the stage, and at the same time keeping the crowd entertained.

as far as actual bands are concerned, we've got brokensauce and the satellites.  kakausapin ko ang brokensauce sa sabado pag nagrecording kami, but i'm almost sure they'll be up to it.  maybe we can audition for a third band sa gig announcements kung wala pa tayong mahanap, or kung medyo tight na kami (not to mention, find a bassist), baka pwedeng sumalang yung side project namin ni julius as the 3rd band...

sensya na kung medyo ngarag ang post ko...work day's over and (no pun intended) it's been a hard day's night!   :-D

Is it true that it was Paul Mccartney who did that great guitar solo of George's Harrison's Taxman?

Paul also plays lead on Another Girl. If my memory still recalls it right, nakita ko sya sa Vinyl dati. Right me guys if I'm wrong please..

There is an easier way to play Tomorrow Never Knows without destroying the integrity of the song. Which means there are no sound effects:

Intro : C5 (doesn't matter how many bars)
for the rest of the song : /C5/-/-/-/Bb5/F5/C5/-/

So it's an eight bar sequence and you can jam the whole song with it.

Let the singer sing a la John Lennon with a bad cold. Get roaring guitars to do them power chords, let the bass and drums retain the original patterns and you're off!
