Not just a marshall...a full stack 2203 hehehe. Straight to the amp. :D

Well...you could try my JCM800 emulator pedal too. Its not my favorite anymore, but it did nail the frusciante sound. Sobrang bright.

Big Muff + Boss DS-2 for that solo sound.

Big Muff + Boss DS-2 + WH-10 + slapback delay for the solo sound at the very end.

Don't use a clean amp. Set your amp to a slightly overdriven sound.

what i want to know is how RHCP keeps their balance. nanuod ako ng mga live nila sa youtube. eventhough mahina si john e, parang balanseng balanse yung tunog ng banda. galing, i wonder how they achieve that.

Dave Rat rides their faders. Hindi lang nakaiwan sa isang spot for the whole show or even for a song yung faders ng bawat isa. During songs he brings them up, pulls them down in the mix.

this is a bit OT, but dig the emotion on this version of RHCP's under the bridge. sabi ng comments, this was the turning point of their careers, kasi after this show, JF left the band.

Fru was high on heroine at that time and if you search for their performance before UTB at SNL, Stone Cold Bush, Anthony hit JF with the micstand. Around this time the band and JF was getting farther apart.

It will differ from player to player but I got mine close to his sound with: Mode II, all knobs 12 o'clock - 1 o'clock.

What I know is he used a Marshall Silver Jubilee in one of the recordings, the same amp that Slash uses...

But anyway, you also have to practice your funky upstrokes...
