Line 6 Helix & Pod HD300/400/500/500x users thread!!!

Hi guys. Ano ba marecommend nyo na eq pedal na magamit sa effects loop ng pod hd? Boss ge 7 o mxr 6 band eq? Mas mura kasi mxr at tight budget sa dadating na bonus. Hehehe

Tumutugtog din ako sa church. Kaso currently, 3 blocks ang nagagamit sa chain ko para final tone shaping. Vetta c9mp para uniform yung signal na dumadating sa console (direct to pa kasi), Mid focus eq para matanggal ang fizz, tapos parametric eq na around 700-800hz boost para rinig ako sa house mix.

Ngayon gusto ko sana ng dedicated eq pedal para bawas ng effect block sa chain. Balak ko kasi rin kumuha ng line6 m9 para dun ko nalang ilagay yung dotted eighth  and quarter note ddelay at reverb, kaso kapag may budget na.

Saka request, pwede ko ba marinig sample ng mga patches na gawa nyo?

i think that will perfectly work for hd500 without any dsp problems. I dont have my pod infront of me right now pero looking at your specs, kayang kaya sya except sa setup2 di ako sure parang depende din sa amp sim.

Ayun, salamat! I don't really think I'd be using a dual amp set up anyway for live. All I need it to do now is to replicate my pedalboard.

I'm assuming the following:
1. By "harmonist" you mean the Line 6 smart harmony effect
2. By "analog delay" you mean analog echo
3. By "shimmer reverb" you mean the octoverb

All of the above are actually resource hogs. I probably should have recognized that the moment I noticed them in your post.

Setup 1 should work fine.

Setup 2 might be problematic. The HD500 reaches its DSP limit with most of its regular amp sims. The PRE models will work and sound great when plugging into a guitar amp's effects loop. But for plugging straight to PA or direct recording, I can't vouch for it.

Wah - comp - OD - dist - amp sim - harmonist - analog delay - digital delay - -fx loop (for volume boost purposes lang) current setup ko sa HD500. Kaya naman.

Marco wants a setup that has an overdrive, distortion and fuzz effect in one patch. What I would normally do is create multiple patches that would consist of a combination of these effects with respect to the songs I want to play, but not one with all.

The HD500 can also handle his setup 2 with a modification or two. Taking out one of the dirt effects is one way. Another is by changing the analog echo into a digital delay.

But if compromise is not an option, then going with the HD500X will be a must.

Thanks for the tip, Al! Not too fussy with delay, so I can live with DD. The reverb can go too as well, as its not really super critical.

Actually, for the harmonist function, I'd really just need octave down harmony at heel down and octave up harmony at toe down, ala Whammy harmony mode. Is that something i'd need the smart harmony for?

You'd need the whammy function, then (it's called pitch glide in the POD). Medyo matakaw din sa processing power yun.

Why bother with most, if not all of those effects if you already have an HD? I can imagine having the EX7, BB Preamp and even the SH, but the others... doesn't it seem excessive?

But to answer your question, this is how I'd lay them out:

Guitar --> HD500X (guitar in) --> HD500X (FX out) --> EX7 --> BB --> SH --> Nux --> HD500X (FX in) --> HD500 out --> Digidelay --> MS70CDR --> amp (effects loop in)

Then prepare to deal with a lot of potential noise...

May ibang gig na walang amp at iba may amp. Minsan nahihirapan ako magset up.
