He doesn't have to. We both know where this will lead us. And it ain't gonna be pretty.

I don't know where it will lead to... but I like what's being said but I want to know from what baseline the reviewer is coming from... though on some points I don't necessarily agree.

That's you and that's him. That simple. This ain't a "who's better or what's better" kind of thread so if you have nothing good or nice to say, leave this thread alone and just concentrate on honing your chops. No one is asking for your opinion in the first place, so beat it, kid. Respect this thread, and most importantly, respect the one whose this thread is dedicated to.

guitarwhiz02 IS RIGHT. Just leave.

I believe that the definition of definition is reinvention. To not be like your parents. To not be like your friends. To be yourself.

I'm not taking Alex's side or anything here..

pero i honestly didn't see anything wrong with Sir Alex's post.. he was just asking kung anong pickups na nagamit ni Sir Frivers.. i mean, that can be a basis of comparison on how good Mang Max's pickups are or kung ano yung nagagawa talaga nila..

guys, this is a forum.. sana wag natin tingnan ang post ng ibang tao na parang naghahamon or what.. let's just be healthy in discussing things.. if my guitar had single coils, i'd be more than interested din sa noiseless single coils ni mang max and i want to know how noiseless they are in comparison with other branded pups..

c'mon.. wala pa namang sinasabing masama yung tao eh..

Point taken, mate. But, knowing Alex, and I guess 95% of the GC population can attest that once Alex's skepticism starts to provoke anyone, more often than not, conversations like these will turn downright ugly. And that's what we're tryin' to avoid 'coz this is not a place or thread for arguing. Mang Max deserves due respect, and if we're goin' to tolerate or allow the guy (Alex) to bash or look down at Mr. Rufo's works, then we ain't giving him any.

Remember, nangyari na ito a few posts back. Yung nagkainitan na dahil kinumpara yung mga gawa ni Mang Max sa mga $2k-$5k na guitars.

And here is, by the way, Alex's last post. Read the last phrase. Trust me, dyan magsisimula ang masamang usapan kung di natin pipigilan.

And regarding your guitar, chief, believe it or not, his single coils are so powerful that it can get the sound of a humbucker. May mga naka-try na mga kilalang artists yung pick-ups ni Mang Max and they too were blown away. Punta ka sakanya, chief. Try mo. :-D

bro, i seriously don't believe one needs to have a basis of comparison to say a pickup sounds good.  if he was able to try it for metal and it fit, then it's good for metal.  if he tried it with dynamics and sounded good, then it's touch responsive.  it is entirely dependent on ze aural receptors and how he attacked the guitar.   :-D

after all, frivers didn't mention that Mang Max's pickup sounds like (insert boutique brand here).  if such was the case, then basis of comparison should have been provided and extent of experience on the pickup referenced.

does he make humbuckers? fk i can't go to his place now, it's just too far.. sana he can wind some killer paf buckers..  :-)

aside from the sound, i'm more interested on how "noiseless" they are.. thus, basis of comparison sana.. there are dimarzio noiseless pickups (particularly, single coils), pero from guys i know who have used them, may hum parin daw talaga..

so more than the tone, i'm interested din on knowing how truly "noiseless" his pickups are compared sa iba..

that's why i never mentioned the sound, rather, i said, basis of comparison how good Mang Max's pickups are or kung ano yung nagagawa talaga nila..

if mang max can wind super noiseless pups that can be at par with kinmans, then to hell with us all.. i'm buying them even if i'm not gonna use them..

i'm also interested in knowing the difference between those pups mentioned... but a separate thread would be better for it rather than opening a discussion here since this thread is dedicated to showcasing Mang Max's work... also to avoid flaming in this thread...

i'm a humbucker pup lover because i hate the hum of single coils
so i sacrificed the single coils sound/tone just to get a humless/noiseless sound
but when i tested mang max's single coil pups, posible pala maging noiseless ang single coils
i can personally say na noiseless talaga pups ni mang max because i tested it

well pretty much based on frivers statement he is just describing his experience with the MR noiseless pickups..not saying it floored other pickups out there

but anyway i would like to try out a set
