"We never said the band broke up! Who keeps saying these things anyway?"
quips Manuel Legarda, as he lays in tracks to their yet untitled 6th
studio album of original tracks. "Sure we've gone separate ways, but
every so often when it's convenient, we still get together."
"I really love the idea that we are featuring these demos on Yahoo, "
says Legarda. "When you first listen to a rough cut of a song then hear
the final version on the radio and spot the differences, it's as if you
were part of the whole process of making the song. So it's something we
want our fans to experience."
Asked about whether he was worried about releasing demos to a new
generation of fans Legarda says "Not at all, some people might remember
us, a lot of kids today might not, but hopefully they'll hear this and
like it. I'd really hate it if all we were remembered for was our past
work because we're still writing new songs."
With all the members of the band in 3 different countries, recording
has been a challenge. "We've had difficulty booking a studio to work in,
but fortunately there is the internet and we trade a lot of files over
the net." Says Legarda.
"We'll be doing more vocals when Basti comes back, and since we
don't tour anymore, there is a lot more time to work on this album. We
have a number of songs that lack vocals and arrangements, but I am happy
that we'll finish this and hopefully you'll hear some of it on the radio
soon."
