Wala na bang 60's, 70's to 80's ROCKERS dito?
« on: July 03, 2016, 12:45:59 PM »
Kung ikaw ay maka-Jimi Hendrix Experience, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Doors, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Santana(60's), Ten Years After, Allman Brothers Band, at kung sinu-sino pa, PASOK NA!

Tama ba?

@rayvelasco7 Ay salamat! Akala ko nag-iisa na lang ako e. Senior citizen na po ako mga bro. Pero 'Still Alive And Well'. Johnny Winter po yang kanta na yan and it describes my attitude. Hindi ko kasi maiwanan ang roots ko. Eric Clapton, Paul MaCartney and some others are 70-years young, pero still playing their music.

You're right though rogu_rats, father time wins. Daming musicians dying last year and it's kinda depressing.

Pushing 40 nako, kung kelan lang tumanda I began to "really" appreciate older music. Not to derail the thread but going back even further to Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Elmore James, T-Bone Walker and (di kasama usapang blues) Robert Johnson
makes me appreciate it even more. And motivating me to keep playing.

My 2 daughters (4 & 7 years old) really dig Led Zep, and mejo developing na taste nila in the old blues.

Have my reasons, valid or not at the time.

Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, at iba pa.

Good, at ang mga anak mo e exposed sa music na appreciated mo, pero don't expect too much later, from them.

Still, I find, at this age, yung appreciation ko sa music actually, lumawak pa, pero sabi ko nga ROCK music is what pleases my ears, up to now.
Meron time na nabasa ko sinabi ni Jimmy Page'"You can never escape your roots". Ahem......

Especially true, especially when I picked up the guitar again after a 6 year layoff. Everything from what
to learn, even the choice of guitar. I noticed din I've become more open-minded
when listening to music, kahit mga bago. But at the same time, extremely narrow-minded on the things I like to play. Weird.

Had a strat in a former life, never really fell "in love" with it despite it being a very good instrument (all things considered). Current guitar is an updated reflection of my musical interests, just an LP copy but I love it to bits.

yung old school punk bands like The Ramones, The Clash, nasa isang dedicated playlist yan.

1969 was a great year for many.
won Miss Universe. Pero ang pinaka matindi yun ngang Woodstock Art Fair, shown in Metromanila theaters. Nag-cut classes pa 'ko para makapanuod(BAD!
BAD! BAD EXAMPLE!).

Yep, ako rin binabalik-balikan ko yan. Yung impact kasi, napakatindi nung spontaneous energy nung '69 Woodstock. Too bad, some Woodstock footages are not included yata sa
reissue, like yung buong performance ni Jimi, merong naglabas ng complete footage somewhere in the internet, pero edited pa rin sa reissue.

I really fell in love with Santana's Soul Sacrifice, Ten Years After's I'm Going Home, Jimi's Star-Spangled Banner/Purple Haze/Guitar Solo and the Gimme An F
song hehehehe.

Not a huge fan of the usual old BIG bands but I am a fan of those eras. There are many obscure bands in those times that were very good in every genre.

Google: Comus, Pentangle, Aphrodite's Child, Magma, and here's a bit popular...King Crimson

big UFO / MSG fan here, goes without saying I'm also very much into the Scorpions as well.

Deep Purple, Rainbow, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, BTO, Doobie Brothers, Black Sabbath, Santana
