i like Paul Gilbert's playing style and tone on record.  i remember Mr. Big's reunion show at the Big Dome just a few years back, i was disappointed about the tone coming out of his rig. scooped and sobrang nipis.

have to agree. EJ's tone is very nice to the ear, not too shrill.

Especially the G3 version. I think tonewise, he wins over Vai and Satch here.

Medyo lubog nga lang si EJ sa mix sa G3 '96. That's what usually happens when the highs are rolled off a bit more than usual.

Personally, I don't like Jimmy Page's live tone. Just not my thing.

Was never a fan of Steve Vai's Tone. Too... Squealy?

another thing, and I think I might get mobbed for this, yung tone ni paul gilbert. sobrang ma highs, pero its all a matter of taste hahaha

actually hindi sa high, maprescence siya. pag too high, mejo pointy ang sound. yun yung sa video niya from what I remember. "A lot of PRESCENCE". hehe

but I liked the way he's sounding right now sa fireman niya
yada yada yada.....

I generally love Slash's tones, but there's something in the way he recorded "Sweet Child of Mine's" licks and solos that I find very...'clumsy.' It's probably just me.

very agree. maganda tone ni satch nung G3 96 but when ej came in, lalo nung sa red house jam, shet mind blown. still blows my mind until now.

there's quite a bit of a list whose tone i don't like...

kirk hammet sits way up on it  :-D

mathias jabs' guitar tone on Love at First Sting...easily destroyed by Rudi's.

i know his tone is not venerated. But as much as i am a Richie Kotzen Fan i don't like the tone from some of his solo albums. Parang manipis minsan. Very much unlike his tone from Poison's Native Tongue Album.

Guthrie Govan's tone. Seems just to sound ordinary and like everybody can get close to it easily.  :)

yeah lalo dun sa G3 03, and the Concerto thing. it sounded quite unlike nung tone niya sa Yngwie Malmsteen LIVE!!! which i thought was pretty cool.

i also dislike Alexi Laiho's tone but totally respect his guitar playing

i like the dime tone. it is unique. and served the pantera sound really well. it's solid state, cold, sharp and extreme. but it worked!  i don't like pantera that much. but i dig what dime did. it wouldn't sound the same if he had a marshall or boogie with the mids set high.

but yeah, i get it when people say they don't like the dime tone.
