sir veggie, i never a/b'd the bad monkey and the screamin blues side by side pero i think if you dial in the gain at around 9:00-11:00 and boost the hi freq to about... say 12:00-2:00 then you could get a bad monkey sound. i wouldn't know really pero from the clips ive heard sa site and from what i personally tried, medyo malapit po ito.

walang stock ang bad monkey sa lahat ng audiophile, i think. may parating na shipment ng digitech products pero di pa daw alam kung kelan.

bought it from a guy here ...he said he just bought a gt8..so lahat ng digitech peds nya for sale..
he was selling a screaming blues, main squeeze tsaka the bad monkey...i went for the BM...ganda ng OD sound nya, napaka smooth.

Im jealous!

I have an X V amp and im thinking of using it with the BM. I want a sweet overdriven tone but i havent found the one with all the amp sims. I wonder if it will work with my mfx...

Do you use it alone or with other fx?

Sana Included yung mga Distortion Peds nila like HotHead and BadMonkey, Ang mangyari kasi baka puro X Series( Sana may ToneDriver) tsaka RP series lang and inorder nila.

for the bad monkey... i think it really shines as a tube amp booster. pero i doubt its capabilities when used with a solid state. it cud emulate a tube amp perhaps, pero para sigurong youre "defeating the purpose" of the pedal kumbaga.

pero the screaming blues and ss amps mix.

tried and tested.

I remember nung nag-inquire ako sa sweetwater noon about their DS1 and Badmonkey kasi nga $39 lang ang isa, kukunin ko na sana pero yung computation nila kasama na shipping umabot ng $180!

Now i'm GASing for a Hot head! [-o< I have a modded DS-1 i'm thinking of selling to get me a Hot Head! You guys think that's a good idea? :-k I just heard the soundclips from their website and i like it! But i still have to try it out in person! ok ba talaga yun?

And how does the bad monkey compare to a ts808? :-k

Ive been using the bad monkey for about 3 months na, and so far one of the best pedals na nagamit ko. Bought it sa AP.

Get a Hot Rod, not a Hot Head. I tried that and couldn't get a decent tone. Malasado ang tunog. The Hot Rod is more versatile.
I also relied on the sound clip from their site. My sound was nowhere near from the clip. But then again I have a solid state amp. Maybe your setup is different.

sir ok lang ba sya kahit digital yun? from my experience with digital distortions maganda lang tunog nya pag mahina lang and for practicing alone. Or baka pangit lang yung nagamit ko before(distortion lang ng zoom505 at 707)?

How does it compare to analog stomps?

Got a Tone Driver at AP Festival mall. Basically, I needed a gain unit coz my old-cheap-yet-trusty nobels odr1 was under repair. I tried out the hot rod and the other metal-thing...i liked them but they were out of stock...display units cannot be sold daw...putcha pinatry pa sakin. so kinuha ko na yung tone driver. ok naman sya nung triny ko...kaso pagdating ko sa bahay medyo dun ko sya nausisa. just in time na repair na yung nobels ko...[apple] digital na digital ang dating sakin nung tone driver...in my own words "malamig!"....ang lakas ba sa battery. So thats all. actually usable naman yung tone driver, kaso yung shift from clean to overdrive parang may nabago sa tone ko. parang namatay at pinalitan ng static..ewan. Now i use it as additional boost for solo (sasabog na amp ko effect)

to my ears (imo then), this is how a Bad Monkey and a Screamin' Blues can approximate each other...

to approximate a Screamin Blues with all knobs at 12 o'clock,
set the Bad Monkey to Level=2 o'clock, Low=11, High=3:30, Gain=2

to approximate a Bad Monkey with all knobs at 12 o'clock,
set the Screamin Blues to Level=11, Low=1, High=9, Gain=10:30

I could be wrong and will experiment some more. But if anyone has more accurate settings, then probably one pedal is redundant and can be let go.

... tho the Screamin Blues sounds a bit treblier and more hi-fi no matter if you bring down the High knob
