Sir shadowmoon is correct.

This guitar is the first year of the production of American Standard Strat (Introduced in NAMM '87) the attention to detail is really good because i think only 4 guys are making guitars in their factory and they make less than 10 guitars a day.

Onting ipon lang lang yan chief, better to save for a bit and get what you want than to buy something that you'll just settle with because the budget is not YET enough. :)

May point po kayo pero I think okay na ako sa Black Top as of now since pop punk lang naman tinutugtog ko. Well, maybe in the future, mag-iipon din ako for an American Standard for collection na siguro.  :)

Agree! Mas gusto ko rin yung itsura ng Blacktop Strats over Blacktop Teles, siguro dahil sa baliktad na control plate haha

Post CBS

Fender was sold late 84 if im not mistaken. the problem then was that the sale did not include the factory.

Fender Japan took the helms in 1985 and 1986. Fender USA was however making guitars already in 1986 but these guitars were for 1987.

Fender had to regain their lost glory. so the natural course of action for someone, or in this case an entity, to regain their reputation is to make themselves look good. and to do this , they had to churn out good guitars to woo the market.

i can't remember exactly what i had read but there were about 10-15 employees doing various work. Some focused on the Re Issues, the others on the American Standard, the others on amps.

production was very low, about 5-10 a day. naging 10-15 ata the following year...or something like that.

the reissues made in 1986 (distributed in 1987), were made from the left over bodies of the Fullerton factory. Fender also had a lot of left over hardware from the Fullerton era of the early 80s. some early 90s RIs have Fullerton Era bridges.

those behind the building of the RIs eventually became the Custom Shop. John Cruz is one of them. So the late 80s RI guitars are considered by some as the early masterbuilts, and the quality of construction of the Am Std is superb. noong mid 90s lang ata nag iba ihip ng hangin. im not too sure but i know a lot in my circle who were not happy with their mid 90s Am Std.

maiba tayo, wala lang, tinamaan ako dito, si idol kasi ang nagsabi:

"A guitar makes you play a certain way. A person who studies Jimi Hendrix’s playing with a Les Paul is at a disadvantage—you won’t really understand what he was doing with his hands. "

can someone please give me a strat? ahaha

Tone is in the bolt on. AHAHAHAHA

pero on a serious note, may sense yung article eh. I had the same experience when I was studying John Mayer's style. I was playing with a Les Paul back then, and no matter how much I tweaked, i couldn't nail the tones. I couldn't nail the licks as well. something wasn't right.

and then I bought a strat. whew. yun lang pala yung kulang. HAHAHAHA

9.5? or 7.25? Isasali ko lang yung fretboard radius sa considerations ko pag bumili na ako.

BILI NA! AMMK remember! :D

If my memory serves me right, it's a 9.5. personally, I prefer the 7.25 mas masarap i play.

some prefer 9.5 or flatter, over the 7.25. best talaga to try and see what you're comfortable with. the flatter the radius the easier it is to play...generally speaking lang. kaya marami sa bowtik, 9.5 or flatter ang request nila. pero pag tru to spec na old fender, talagang 7.25.
