Kami, simula na nag B3 all the way (U-series, TS-series, Sigma Series) di na kami nagkaproblema sa operation namin. tuloy-tuloy na ang kita, wala na gastos sa repairs.

(Out of Topic)
Boss consult lang tungkol sa mid size set up).
Dapat ba 2 pair ng speaker? (this means na 2 rin ang power amp?)
I read several articles and they sadi that:.
one pair for subwoofers for bass and drums and
one pair of speakers for vocals, guitars ang keyboard.
thanks
-
spl ok :-)
-
-
Mackie Thump TH-15A is P24,995 Retail
Mackie Thump 18S is P48,995 Retail
you may ask your favorite dealer for your price ;)

huwag mo na i-consider spl, very bad experience with this units. sana ma-resolve yung problema ko dito.

No passive Mackie version.
since it was mentioned in this thread, you may consider passive B3 models like the TS-300, U12, TS-260, TS-200
-
-
mga sir, magkano mackie HD1531(1,800w) plus HD1801(1,600w)?
meron naba gumagamit neto?
-
nadinig k na mackie HD, maganda tumunog. yun 2way less than 70k plus ata isa.
-
Sir, try to consider YAMAHA Club V Series (for FOH / Monitor) may exclusive discounts po @ Yupangco Electronics Corporation until April 30, 2010.

Use? Occasional small band gigs, for Rental na rin kung may offer pero for most of the time naka fix sa bahay.
#1> 1pair JBL-JRX115 + Crown LPS2500
#2> 1pair Mackie THUMP (TH-15)
Im leaning towards the JBL speakers since they are made of MDF which some say "sounds better" than molded plastics.

Both are good choices. I tried the JRX series before and they sounded good. For the Mackie Thumps, the prices are tempting  and I'm sure these will sound good too since they are Mackie.
-
@ SAITOHAJIME,
heard both models, sir, IMHO, both are good but better ang sound ng Mackie Thump though the two are the entry-level ng respective brands nila. you may want to compare data sheets as well and make projections on max SPL if that will be an issue. the Thump's a 15 incher but the website says its ampli's not as powerful as others of the same dimension. but between the two, +1 on Mackie Thump.

Thanks Boss Sikyo, Ive already compared the numbers.
Freq Response: JBL JRX115 > 50Hz - 12.5KHz Mackie THUMP > 40Hz - 20KHz
SPL : JBL JRX115 > 128db Mackie THUMP > 113db
Sensitivity : JBL JRX115 > 98db Mackie THUMP > 94db
JBL's JRX115 somehow have better overall figures, except for the the THUMP's freq. response. Then again i dont know how would this translate to real world situations. There's also the issue of durability since hindi biro ang investment na ito. Just trying to make most of my money hehehe.

since tested ko na ang jbl jrx115 for small set-ups and gigs and matched well with the crown lps2500 power amp, i would go for these two. 8-)
i did find some issues regarding the high frequency driver before. although this may be a common problem for a typical 2way speaker system with a 1" hf driver, we at least got a good substitute on the diaphragm since i think audiophile takes time to order the original jbl parts. p-audio is a very good replacement :-D

Boss Jeff,
Thanks for the inputs. Replaced HF driver? bakit? madali bang masira?
(JRX = 128db vs. THUMP = 113db, 15db difference) Does this mean mas malakas ang JRX? Tama ba?
A/B test? It's still hard to compare since magkaiba sila ng store (Audiophile & SPL), Magkaiba din ng setup. For the Mackies, Well liked the "THUMP" they produce as they cut across the noisy streets of Raon (which was filled with crappy sounding speakers, hehehe). The JBL's I tested had very clear & soft sounds.
What about other brands? The YAMAHA's are out my budget range hehehe. How about the sigma's by B3 with the 2" HF driver? Comparable ba sila?

i use the jrx115 mainly for projects. there are incidents of hf problems as i mentioned, but no big deal since there is already a p-audio substitute for it.
as for the published specs, it's really difficult to compare using plain data sheets. your ears will be the ultimate judge :-) i haven't heard the mackie thumps but i do have old mackie srm450 monitors and they still impress me until today 8-)

Boss, yun bang "quality 8/10" mo eh build quality o sound quality? Malaki rin pala ibinaba ng mga presyo nito at almost 10K/pair over the JBL's. Di naman ako "choosy" sa brand names. Habol ko lang po eh "value for my money" :-D

TS360 ay plastic molded type siya sir, yung sigma naman is S215 ang mga model with sinlge 15 woofer and 2inch compression driver, last time ng nag inquire ako sa TMS 20K daw may less pa. Kaso wala silang available as of now, baka this second week pa daw ng May ang dating.

Sir sikyo, the Driverack PX can be used on a set-up coming from a "single amp" source. The JRX 115 is a passive speaker system and has already a built-in internal crossover just like most modern day powered systems. On the other hand, the Driverack PA/PA+ is mainly used for systems, say FOH, with bi-amped and tri-amped requirements.
-
thanks for the reply sir stoney. i'm planning to add a sub or two sa setup namin presently consisting of a pair of single 10", 2-way powered speakers for FOH. worried me sa latency issues between the subs and tops, nalilito rin ako sa difference ng outs ng DRPA+ and PX, the former has separate outs for the lows, mids, and highs while the PX has 2 pairs, i suppose for the tops and subs. mukhang ngayon ko lang nalilinawan :-D i also have a 600-watt per channel RMS Crown power amp which i can use for a passive sub or a pair of passive mons. asking your opinion on the best, most cost effective setup before recommending the purchase. don't want to make a mistake, like you said, 'the wrong piece of gear at the right price is still the wrong piece of gear' :-D thanks po for the help and sorry to the mod and others kung medyo off topic po :-D

If you wish to use the PX for your subwoofers, you can use the SUB OUTPUTS. For your powered FOH system, you will be using the OUTPUTS. Try USER10 as a start. Remember that you can always adjust the crossover frequency points. 8-)
-
thanks again sir stoney. always thought the PX is limited to powered speakers only that's why i was leaning towards the PA+ for better flexibility (baka needed in the future in a different setup, you'll never know). GASsing for the cheaper PX :-D

+ 1. Bravo DRPX 8-)
Using the DriveRack PX is as easy as the manual says it is. It's designed to be hooked up between the output of your mixer and the input(s) of your powered speakers, and it really can make a difference to the performance of the system. As it only takes up a single rack unit of space, it most likely won't detract from the simplicity of a powered speaker setup as there will probably be some outboard effects already in a rack — and, of course, the DriveRack PX can take the place of various separate processors such as stand-alone graphic EQ, feedback suppressors, compressors and limiters.
Whenever I use powered speaker systems as floor monitors, I utilize the built-in Auto-EQ function as well as the Peakplus limiters (in stereo). In this way, you really get TONS of headroom. The feedback suppressor or AFS is a masterpiece. I can even get more savings by not installing a conventional graphic eq. It even comes with free M2 measurement microphone, for use with the pink noise generator, RTA and auto-EQ function...
