I'm aware that sir Koko offers drum lessons during his spare time.  Try to meet him on any of his gigs and inquire about it.

what group ba yung tinutugtugan ni kuya Koko ngayon?  :-)

I'm also asking that question to myself.  :-D

Seriously, I'm still giving thought about it.  I still need to learn how to teach effectively.

X2 on that...you should offer drum lessons kuya  :-D

J.I.H.A.D.

JP's Institute for Highly Advanced Drumming

Testi:
Seriously, JPMB offers drum lessons. I've been to one recently and I've picked up several chops for improving and addin up to my drum vocab and comprehension. and a few cheat chops that does the trick quite effectively and effeciently. Yes, yes we all need to start somewhere in drumming and JIHAD is one viable launch pad. I don't know with you but today I'm heading towards JIHAD to configure my elims pedals properly and steal a few more tricks. So have a go at it, drop Mr. JP Buduan a line today and find out what you're missing. ring him up, send him a text, fax, emai, telegram, pm, or visit him in Yupangco showroom, what have you...just go for it! best of all, u have the liberty of enjoying alcoholic refreshments whilst learning!

Ok kay sir Jun Regalado. Nakakaintimidate at first (kse shempre sya ANG Jun Regalado) but he's really great. Learned a lot from him and I plan to take up more lessons soon. Your playing will surely jump to a higher level.

haha..no bro..Jihad is not connected with it..its a totally differnet creation...Jihad is formed to cater the per session students only..meaning the students pays only every session..we find it more affordable kasi for the starting students and jihad is not your usual drum school..haha...lets talk about this once you are here pare...

warning: long post :-)

Different teachers for different students.. Different teaching styles for different students.

  • marunong makipag-communicate (verbal, non-verbal/actions, and demo)

Isa pa, most likely puno na yung schedule nila; and konting-konti lang ung vacant na time slots ko within the week dahil sa priorities.

Searched sa philmusic forums... tumingin ng feedback... looked at how the prospective teachers
communicate/interact/deal with other people (if available). From there, nagtungo sa pagpapaturo ko sa kanya under jihad.

Ang gusto kong matugtog ay rock, progressive, funk, latin/afro-cuban/brazilian and jazz. Alam kong rocker si JP. Not sure about the funk and definitely not jazz :-). Anyway, with the short 1 to 2 months that I have, alam kong hindi ko matututunan ung iba so ok din to start with rock.

Had 4 sessions with him and so far lessons are great. Basics ng strokes, paradiddles, triplets, flams and combinations. Hindi man sya jazz drummer  pero I can see na he's trying his very best learning that (satisfies my third basic req).

So, if you more or less have the same "condition" as mine, or you have the same basic requirement as mine, you might want to try jihad. Kung hindi nyo man magustuhan or you think you need a different teacher, you can always go to a different teacher since your commitment is on a "per session" basis. But don't let this make you think that he will just teach you during the session .. in fact he will bug you (via yahoo messenger or forum pm) to practice the exercises.

I'm sure you can imagine ... ;-)

meron siyang tinuturong mga backsticking, three way backsticking, etc..

try mo lang kc im a student of UST Conservatory of Music and im a percussion major..
dalawa lang prof namin sa percussion and either sa kanila ndi nagtuturo sa pageexhibition ng stick, and other related to that.. turo lang talaga nila sight reading, and other classical percussion instruments like tympani, marimba, etc.. :-)
