Well...just like a notebook, we can think that the first thread got filled and..well...dirty. So let's open a new notebook to continue the fun. For reference, we'll link the old thread here so it can be referred back to for testimonials and information and stuff.

So here's the old thread, so we can always refer to it anytime :

http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,35791.0.html

And the who's who thread :
http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,37827.0.html

And the post that started it all, dominantchord2005's very first public review of the scalarizer
http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,34930.0.html

And finally, the Varsitarian Article (more articles to come)
http://www.varsitarian.com/moredetail.asp?id=3146

So again there are currently five scalarizer models now. The characteristics and voicing are as follows :

Crystal core - gives the guitar a flat and sparkly tonal response
Metal core - Crisp and punchy tone, with upper mids emphasis
Organicore - Warm response, with emphasis on the "warm" midrange frequencies.
Hydrocore - Cool, wet and wavy signal. Like having a mild chorus built inside your guitar
Firecore - Aggressive and edgy tone. Like having a permanent "crunch" sound inside your guitar.

Combinations of these  scalarizer types will imbibe a guitar with the characteristics of the scalarizers installed. For instance, a guitar with a crystal-metal core combination installed will have both the crisp and punchy tone plus the sparkly character. Organicrystal will give a woody, warm and organic tone plus the sparkly, chimey character. Organic-Metal will give both the crispy, crunchy tone plus the warmth and woody sound of the organicore.

Let the fun begin again !

  • Crystal sa Epi FlyingV?
  • Dual scalarize sa Strat

thanks. :-)

I have this Kramer guitar which I never really played.  A Van Halen. Too old to rock and roll?  Maybe.  But if I would have it scalarized, which model would you recommend?

Okay. Before we go on lang...to Floyd Nikita :

While nakita mo yung loob, it is only part of the technology and I can say that without the full understanding of the technology involved, it cannot be duplicated *that* easily. Please keep your ill intentions out of this new thread, but you are welcome to post here once you have come up with your own prototype of the scalarizer. If you think it's that easy.

Okay moving on. Answer ko queries nyo in  new quoted posts.

For Epi flying V, remove the strings and pickguard. Desolder the wire going to the middle lug of the pickup selector switch. Solder one scalarizer lead to that lug, and the other lead to the wire you took out.

For a strat, remove the output jack plate. Desolder the hot wire going to the output jack. Connect the two scalarizers in parallel. Solder one end of the joined scalarizer leads to the jack, and the other to the hot wire you desoldered. cover with masking tape to insulate. Insert the scalarizers into the output jack and re-screw the plate back. You're done :D

Sir BAMF tanong lang kung paano ikabit:

  • Dual scalarize sa Strat

thanks. :-)

With just a prejudice on the type of guitar and the music its played on going for me, I'd recommend a metal scalarizer. Which is crunchy and really goes well with distortion and overdrive. :D

Sir BAMF,

I saw a thread where you scalarized a zoom 505... What type of scalarizer is that and can a Zoom GFX-8 be scalarized as well?

I was wondering what could be the result for Multi Effects after being scalarized.

I used a crystal scalarizer there. Ganda. Nawala yung harsh digital fizz. Pero I think, now na developed na ang organicore, that is more what digital effects need.

Scalarizing a multi is very risky. Even my Behringer CS100 compressor almost died in the operation. I can only dare do it on my own gear right now. If you want, lets try it na lang on an external patch cable. Tutal, dun din naman ang electrical connection nya...sa output jack.

Cool !

Ang kinabit ko sa yo is metal scalarizer- default choice for bass. And an acoustic scalarizer :D Me ibang bahista, like si edmund, crystal ang pinakabit. Mas pasok sa gusto nyang tunog :D . Im also curious what the organicore will sound like on a bass. Kaya lang, isang unit na lang natitira, at parang kinakati akong install yung natitira sa compressor.

Sabi kasi ni Fafa anton, everything should be warm. So unahin ko na experimentuhin sa compressors, then overdrives, and so on so forth.

Baka magtunog-tubo :D

ill check it later tonight BAMF!!! papa SCALARIZED na rin si GILBERT hehehe naiinggit sa akin...

BAMF, since you are the starter for this thread. I suggest you put in the instructions on how to install the scalarizers on the first post so people who can't physically come over to have it installed by you, can install it themselves. And they don't have to dig through the threads or ask over and over again on how to install it.

bumili ako ng "3-waY" na mini-toggle sa DEECO,
pede ko kaya ma-upgrade yung Vantage guit ko into triple scalarizer mode,
switching ng crystal-metalcore-organicore?

wow, can't wait to hear that new scalarizer variant!
more power :)

Ahhh.. a fresh start  :-)

BAMF installed the organicore scalarizer on my evil tele. It was in fact, dual crystal and metal, and swapped over the metal for the organ (sounds bad!  )

wow! it really warmed up the tele more than the metal, very woody, much more, while retaining the inherent characteristics that I've always loved about it.

Oh, and BAMF's Tokai strat with organicore is a real shocker. he probably noticed that I went over time on it, kahit not plugged it!

Oh, dude, I forgot to reinstall the backplate! Sorry! keep it off and hide it nalang. (And, btw- I knew about the backplate trick way before *he who must not be named* shared it.

So guys, lets aim for another 100 pages and beyond on this thread? eh?

No damage done at all from locking the other thread. It actually did more destruction to floyd than BAMF and the scalarizer. Talk about a breaking the world record of losing friends in the shortest and fastest span of time!  :-D

Dude, being a stratcat, the crystal scalarizer makes all the difference! quack quack quack! and in case it lacks body, the new organicore adds weight, more than three boxes of krispy kremes on the tone! Sweet and phat

I know tokai's are generically on the thin side, though I didn't get to try BAMF's tokai before the scalarizer was installed, there was a happy heftiness to the tone, and lots of air. you can hear it working its magic

what strat you got bro? (self-confessed strat pornographer )
