Make sure that the snare strainer is centered to the drumhead.  Also make sure that the strainer's straps/strings are tightened and mounted properly to its strainer mechanism & butt end.

In regards sa tunog lata na snare sound... I think it depends on the snare drum's sound character itself.  With the 'clang' sound described, I have the impression that this is a metal-shelled drum.  Mr. autoexec, what snare drum brand and model are you using?  And what drumheads are you using?

Bwahahaha. Anyway, heres my another question.

Parang sobrang lakas tumalbog? Pero try ko din mamaya. Thanks :)

Wow ayos! Gumanda tunog ng snare ko! Wahehehe.

Tnx!!

I'm glad to know na nag-improve ang snare sound mo.

About the shell...  I'm referring to its body.

It could be a wood shell (maple, birch, mahogany, beech, etc.), a metal shell (stainless steel, brass, bronze, copper, etc.), a composite shell (acrylic, fiberglass, plastic, etc.), or any combination of those.  There's even a boutique drum company which offers drum shells made out of glass!  Search for Orlich Drums on the web.

The O-Ring serves as a muffler.  It eliminates unwanted overtones.

Hmm... It's most likely because the muffler is actually doing its job.
