hmmm guitar amp channel switching cable jack? is it like the ordinary guitar cable? sorry medyo di ako familiar dun. gusto ko kasi sana itry yung mga switching na ganun

yes tama po, our very own guitar cable.  nasubukan ko na sya, astig, dami talaga feature ng gt-10, this is good if you want to use the clean and dirty channels ng amp.

@roger you, in this setting paano yung reverb and compression fx ng gt 10 while using the pre amp of the amp?  may huge effect ba?  paano ang chain nya? mahuhuli ang pre amp? mauuna pa ang reverb, delay chorus, etc? or dito na papasok yung
send/return loop featue ng gt-10?  di ko kasi ma try ngayon kasi weekend lang ako nakakapagtweak with my amp.  bawal maingay sa weekdays

If you really want to use your real amp preamp then use the S/R route with 4CM (4 Cables Method) configuration. See our manual page 15 lower right illustration. Your chain FX placing is flexible an can be set similar to an ideal analog chaining like this. Guitar>GTinput>Comp>Od/Ds>S/R>Modulation Fx>GToutput.
FX1 and FX2 can be place anywhere you like  8-)
The S/R block would be your real preamp.

But if your amp has no Send/Retrun loop, no way you can have the aboved. This is why i recommeded you before or to anyone to buy amp with higher 50w to 100w with loop feature this way you can use virtually any routing you like with multiFX not just the GT10. Beside you can use it for home volume up to live loud gig volume level plus a good investment. Who do you think would buy your 10w amp  Parang laruan lng ang tunog niyan eh saka di ba nakakahiya naman sa GT10 mo baka magalit sa yo yan kung tao lang siya di siya kasi maka sigaw HHHahahaaa  Ako may 10w akong amp just for testing kung tutunog yon DIY circuit na project ko at kung masira man tapon ko na HHHHehehee. Seriously GT10 can sing his song in a modest to loud volume level

yada yada yada.....

Mas versatile ang gt-10 pero mas mabigat daw tones ng gt-8, pero sabi lang yan ng mga nabasa ko, maybe it is just spending more time in tweaking your gt-10 to get the heavy tones that you want.   The tweaking issue is totally out of the manufacturer's hands, what they can do is to add more spice to the gt-10 so it can be more useful and versatile.   Both gt-8 and gt-10 are NOT plug and play toys.   You need to forget you wife or girlfriend for a period of time to learn all of its possibilites and sound potetials.   Always remember all multi fx are just more of simulations, not the real thing,
all multi's commonly have this "digital sound factor", again i strongly say all of them.   That is their common denominator, so the best way to look for an fx is to look for its VERSATILITY.   I love the phrase loop, the dynamic amp settings, the two noise suppressors settings, and the harmonizer(haven't tried it yet but i already saw some videos) of my gt-10.  Wow they are all very useful,   isa na lang ang gas ko, and yun ang DEC ng TS... :-D :-D :-D

You still need HARMONIC CONVERGER on both unit :-D
NOW that I have (GAS) Radley's HC the real Mc Coy, I then have basis and so much proud to annouce and say DEC is truely genuine as HC effect after A/B ing it from (Clean/Overdrive/Distortion/Highgain stuff)  :-D

BTW, I started the "DEC and HARMONIC CONVERGER for multiFX" co'z I don't want to discuss it here to have this thread purely GT10 tips/trick/comments and suggestion so not to bother those having fun and enjoyment using the GT10 as it is.
ALSO kindly email me on decstomp@yahoo.com regarding DEC so as not to mixed up with my personal email address.
PM uummhhmm pls napunu na eh hirap mag aalis  :x Just post your DEC questions at that thread so as not also to mixed with in this thread and everybody can or anyone having a question may ask and everyone can read over there. It is why I started that thread and redundant lng kc mga PM eh  :-)
Thanks,
Enjoy our GT

sir GT-10 user din me, i have a question or wishful thinking lang

di ba pag may USB, Boss can issue a downloadable software to correct these
issues as a firmware update. Maybe some corrective programming is only needed to get
our desired tones and remove unwanted fizz  :-D

Comrade kyxz,
Sorry to say Boss Roland never or just once gave System version 1.02 firmware update on GT10 to fix minor on PATCH CHANGE MODE (latency from smooth to fast)

==============================================================
Check first the Version you have, mine already v1.02
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
GT-10 SYSTEM PROGRAM Ver1.02
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Viewing the current version number:
Check the version number before updating the GT-10.
The update is not necessary if the version is current.
1. Hold down [DISPLAY MODE] button and turn on the power.
Continue to hold [DISPLAY MODE] until "GT-10 GUITAR EFFECTS
PROCESSOR" appears in the display. After a few seconds, the
version will appear.
2. Turn off the power.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Required items needed for the update
- PC/MAC with "UpdSMF update application" or MIDI sequencer
that can efficiently transfer the SMF files.
- MIDI cable or USB cable
Note: If you use USB to transfer the files, the GT-10 USB
Drivers must be installed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Warning about this update
- If you are unfamiliar with the process of updating the
software in an electronic musical device, it is highly
recommended that you have it performed by an Authorized
Roland/BOSS service center.
- It is highly recommend that you backup your user patches
before you perform the update. If a problem occurs and your
user patches are lost, you will be able to restore the user
information by reloading the data you saved.
- Don't use this system update for any product other than the
GT-10. Doing so could damage the data or system of the other
product.
- Do not power-off the GT-10 while the update is in progress.
If the power should accidentally turn off during the update,
the GT-10 system will be damaged, and the unit will become
inoperable.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Download and uncompressing the file
1. Download the "gt10_sys_v102.zip" into a suitable folder -
preferably on your desktop.
2. After uncompressing the zip file, a "gt10_sys_v102" folder will
appear which includes 32 SMF files (gt10_002.mid - gt10_032.mid,
gt10_065.mid).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
System Update Procedure
1. Make sure the GT-10 power switch is off.
2. Connect the PC's MIDI OUT to the GT-10s MIDI IN.
If you're using USB, connect the PC and the GT-10 with a USB
cable.
3. Simultaneously hold down the CHANNEL SELECT, DISPLAY MODE, and
WRITE buttons and turn on the power. After several seconds the
following appears in the display;
SYSTEM UPDATER
BOOT:V*.** FIRM:V*.**
4. Release the buttons.
5. In the computer, make sure the sleep function is disabled.
6. Send the GT.mid files in numerical order from the external SMF
player / sequencer. The transfer process takes approximately 30-
40 minutes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Example using the UpdSMF program
1. Double click the UpdSMF icon.
2. Choose the MIDI Device from the "MIDI Out Device" list. If you’re
using USB to transfer the files, choose BOSS GT-10.
3. Click "Path," and choose the folder where the GT-10 update SMF
files exist. If you're using UpdSMF for Mac OS X, Click "Select...".
4. Click "Scan SMF." The SMF files will populate in numerical order in
the files field.
5. Click "Send." The following appears in the GT-10 display;
SYSTEM UPDATER
BOOT:V*.** FIRM:V*.**
Now Receiving...
6. After receiving all the SMF files, the display writing appears.

IMPORTANT NOTE
Do not turn off the GT-10 power.
SYSTEM UPDATER
BOOT:V*.** FIRM:V*.**
Now Writing...
7. When the update is finished, Completed display appears.
SYSTEM UPDATER
BOOT:V*.** FIRM:V*.**
Completed
Turn off the GT-10 power switch, and disconnect the MIDI or USB cable.
Confirm the GT-10 version has been updated using the version check
procedure (above).
==============================================================

If you lately just bought your GT10 here in the Philippines (mine has System version 1.02 already and i bought it last 2yrs 2008 June) Yours might already been upgrated to 1.02 (if you like to check it out just do the first procedure at the top no sweat)

NOW for your wishful thinking (just as mine for Roland)
Note (This is not to jive other brand) Even other digital multiFx(company/brand) doing religiously firmware update (sad unlike Boss) to their own unit can't do any firmware update to eliminate the FIZZ (digital aliasing) as you and many other wishing too due and depend to/on each UNIT existing DSP and digital processing plus powerful capability to correct aliasing (OR I MAY SAY IT'S INHERENT TO DIGITAL MULTIFX)
BUT there is one IMO and AFIAK exemption is the AXEFX even Radley the inventor of HARMONIC CONVERGER plus many more great artist/guitarist including your idol maybe or even some TUBE SNOB selling now their beloved tube amp or mulitFX gears migrated into this unit :)
Browse the AxeFX forum to read and see what I mean   Better you sign up to be a member so you could ask (I'm a member). Once again this is just my own opinion and i'm not endorsing or promoting you the UNIT co'z I don't have that unit (hopefully soon or may not  :-)
Anyone or everybody has their own right and views subjectively or objectively.

Hope I did clear it out wishfully
