DENR Reminds Car Buyers: Only Euro 4 Vehicles Allowed to be Registered by 2018

Interested in getting a new Isuzu mu-X or D-Max or Mitsubishi L300 or Adventure? Better get them now. Apart from the looming excise tax increase, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has set a December 31, 2017 deadline for the initial (new car) registration of these vehicles and other non-Euro 4 compliant vehicles in the country.

Although the country has shifted to Euro 4 emissions standard last January 1, 2016, the DENR has given carmakers a bit of a respite. With carmakers citing “long-term production planning of OEMs” and requiring a “significant vehicle technology shift within the model life”, the DENR gave 2 years for carmakers to phase out existing Euro 2 models. That extension expires at the end of 2017.

Beginning January 1, 2018, the DENR will no longer accept Euro 2 Certificates of Conformity (COC) as a basis of initial registration with
the Land Transportation Office or LTO. Simply put, new vehicles which haven’t been registered and do not meet Euro 4 emissions standards cannot be registered any more.




Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the COC is that little sticker on your vehicle’s front windshield stating that it has passed the mandatory emissions requirements.

First, nagkaleak sa may dome light. Tumutulo kapag naulan. Repaired under warranty.

Second, break light switch broke in less than 3 years. Buti may available switch na surplus at mas matibay sa nearby auto-electrical shop. Less than P500 lang nagastos ko.

And third, just recently nagloko car stereo. Naka-on lang pero hindi na nagana lahat ng buttons except for the volume. Lumilipat mag-isa ng station. Minsan natapat sa classical instrumental FM station, volume zero na lang kesa makatulog ako habang nagmamaneho.

i dont think hyundai(or any car brands in the phils) will ever replace a lemon car, even if its declared a lemon.

please look up the online post 'Unloving Loving PH' in google. its a confirmed leakage problem that hyundai wont own up to. if it hadn't gone viral, di pa nila niresolve. and niresolve lang, they did not replace the unit.

also, search 'Screwed By Ford SUBIC' in fb. 40,000 followers, 3 years of horror.

i drive a hyundai accent base model. issues: right door at the backseat goes to child lock even if its not set to child lock. the tranny gets cranky and hard to set to reverse sometimes - i guess this is due to me driving the car only on weekends.

taking it to their casa once it hits 1k kms. i hope that they wont charge exorbitantly or i will be forced to void the warranty and take it somewhere else.

just to give more unsolicited opinion regarding hyundai

i am not really sure how long LTO releases newly registered plates
pero most of the cars i've seen in front of me with broken (busted) taillights are hyundais

sad to think na una pa bumigay yung ilaw nila kesa mabigyan sila ng plaka
