I am really a guitar into amp type person. I rarely use effects.
I do have an Ibanez TB and that and a chorus pedal is all I plug into my Peavey Valveking.
I also have a ZOOM 606II. It's alright but for a long time, I just used it as a tuner. Then I got a second amp - this Peavey Blazer 158 and I decided it needed a little more balls. So I started tweaking and patching this ZOOM 606 to go along with this peavey blazer.
I use the A series of sounds for my 62 strat with EMG Select Pickups. These pickups are technically humbuckers, but sound more like P-90s. Rich and full but enough cut to get through the mix. I wanted to thicken it up, so I used a lot of the Boutique Amp modlue to get my sound along with just plain overdrive. I'm not a distortion fan. I like overdrive and nothing beats the sound of an overdriven tube amp in my opinion. Surprisingly, I was able to tweak this to get some really good boutique and overdrive sounds out of this strat. I also got some really good fender clean tones from it, even using high gain on fender clean to get that Keith Richard crunch.
B Section was used for my Fat Strat. Everything is oriented towards overdrive and peavey amp modules there and I was able to tweak this out to get the tone I needed really well.
C Section is for my strat and teles. Blues was what I was looking for and I tweaked a bunch of fender clean, blackface and overdrive to get some really good blues sounds.
I left the rest like the factory set it up.
Works for me really well - but I still prefer guitar into chorus box into Ibanez TB into amp.
