Goldea, it's a decent tube amp.tried it at guitar pusher last December after i purchased a guitar. you might want to set an appointment with markasq or freemansj just give them a pm.

not a bad choice, i had mine sold because of too much power and weight. Yes, worth the price, especially if you are into low budget. If i'm not mistaken, at30 is a Fender amp based circuit and cosmetics. Better try them first.
I'm a one eared musician, and yes I do exist.

chief happened to me too pero nung check ko maluwag lang yung mismong bulb dun sa socket kaya nilagyan ko sya ng papel sa gilid pampasikip, try mo check yung sayo, open the pilot lamp then diinan mo yung bulb mismo sa loob baka maluwag din. :)

Just an opinion bro, better save up some more and get an amp from the big three, then consider what you're going after...

1.Fender - cleans
2. Marshall - Crunch/Vintage crunch/lead tone
3. Mesa - Hi gain

there are also 2nd tier alternatives: laney, orange, randall etc..

Medyo biased ako against chinese made amps because of writeups on it being unreliable.

not true. just because it's a chinese made amp, doesn't mean it will break down easily.

My friend has the GOLDEA AT30, he plays in a metal band regularly. he's been using it for a year and half and so far everything is still in tip top shape. the amp is now in my possession and i dont think it'll have any problems soon.

I also have another friend who uses the TNT-B Head with a separate cab and its been working with him for 2 years now.

in the end, it depends on how much you take care of the amp. kung di ka talaga marunong gumamit ng tube amp, eh talagang masisira agad yan.

further to my point above, I had a Marshall MG30DFX and a Laney Cub10. both of which couldn't stand the buse of normal bedroom playing and usual jams. Marshall conked out on me and the Laney Cub, well, you know the issue about the laney cub (sudden dropm in volume, then no sound at all).

bottomline is, even amps from the top tier makers have problems. some are even major.

test the amp first, before giving biased opinion
try mo kayang kalabitin baka tumunog...

I saw a goldea classic 5 in the gp catalog priced at around 1/5 of the tweed champ that I want. At that price I may consider the goldea in the meantime if goldea users have good feedback on its tone and durability. Goldea has been around for some time so I believe problems, if any, should come out by now.

maki sali lang ulit, regarding sa durability or problems ng goldea amps.

durability wise, i've never had any issues dun sa naging at30 ko or even yung classic 20 ko ngayon.  madalas nga naiiwan ko accidentally naka on yung mga amps overnight (6hrs or more at30 on standby and yung classic 20 naka on) and wala naman akong ne-encounter na problema even burnt smells wala din naman.

just like sir ralph's experience nauna pang magka issue yung ac30 ko (naging scratchy yung ibang pots nya) which i just got brand new last dec kesa dun sa classic 20 ko na more than a year na sa akin wala  pa rin problema even yung pilot lamp.

plus if you are into modding yung gears, i think ok na platform yung goldea amps considering yung price nya.  :)

Puede naman palitan ang pots and jacks right? Kumusta ang tunog? Malapit ba sa tunog ng original once mapalitan ang tubes?

yes pwede. hindi sila naka SMT. may Hot Rod mod si Mang Raul sa AT30 so, meron pa sigurong other possible mods for the amp.

yes. malapit naman. in my case, ang importante sa kin is ung amp voicing eh. the AT30 sounds like a fender. you can get the same sounds pero not at the same settings. may differences parin talaga.

then again, if you're looking for an exact fender sound, maybe you should get the fender instead.
