@threadstarter: Just get an entry level DSLR muna. Then narrow down ka nalang. I've been stuck with my D40 from model shoots to food photography pero sometimes you need some features talaga na wala sa entry level. For that I go sa D90. Start from the bottom muna bro.

Most versatile DSLR?
none..

for DIGITAL IMAGING(DSLR) and Film Photography
it all depends on what the company requires...minsan Canon ang platform ng company..minsan Nikon...o ibang brand..minsan medium format na digital...depende...minsan FILM na g required sa assignment..nowadays, Digital kasi mabilis ang process.
s mga photojourn, as i know, minsan pag water canon na sa rally ...minsan ata mga film cameras  na ang nilalabas nila.

it all depends sa kailangang project.

every DSLR is versatile... it depends on the user.. you may use canon 1DS Mark IV and your lens is the 24-70 2.8 but the user has little knowledge about photography, ten your camera has no use! so even your camera is 300D, it's versatile too!

canon , nikon or pentax?

all are good brands.

pero yung availabilty ng kanilang mga accessories isipin mo din...
sabagay may canon, nikon at pentax service center naman dito. the best thing is read reviews, punta ka mismo sa store, hawakan mo, ask opinions, test shots.
then, any thing na makaka pag add sa knowledge mo sa product. then i think you can decide.
