Makakabili ng Samson drum mics sa Audiophile.

hahahaha!
recent vist to JB mega? :-D
anyhow i think i can agree with deej. i think it will not capture the total sound of the kick drum because sound would be produced by a 'disturbance' at the head. and that disturbance should travel along the shell. if the mic is placed dead center maybe it won't capture the totality of the shell sound. that made me wonder why is it that only the kick drum's mic is often placed at the resonant side and all the others are placed at the batter side? :-)

just my two cents

Pwede pa i-adjust yung orientation ng mic sa loob: upright, upside-down, at saka near/away from reso/batter.

ahhh...mukhang mas madali kung dalawa yung butas sa reso head no? left and right hand.. hehehe! i guess kasi kailangan mo i screw yung mic dun sa cradle? or may clip na siya?

parang nakakatawa ung concept?

na imagine ko pa, what if whole kit, ganyan ang holder ng mic?

tapos lahat naka clear batter heads!

Here's my POV about this product. I'll start 1st with the problem:
1. Steve Smith will have a problem with this. 1st he doesn't usually have hole in his reso. And, his kick is 20". Unless they have 20" versions.
2. Is this sturdy enough to take the pounding of the bass drum?
3. This is hard to set up compared to a mini mic stand that usually used.
4. I think it costs much than the boom stands.

Pros........
1. Just like what GEP said. maybe this is good for recordings. :-D

We'll see.....

mic-ing and recording your drums
« Reply #66 on: April 14, 2009, 02:53:22 AM »
sir/ma'am dunno if there's already a thread about mic-ing and recording drums
although i found this thread there at music tech and pro audio

http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,131844.0.html

just thought more pinoydrums forumites would see this if placed here.

anyways, i decided to maybe record myself playing the drums, so i could actually hear myself and see how well/worse im doing at the back of my kit. also for some reasons like recording any fills that came up my mind, any covers i'd like to do well, experiments, etc.

but the problem is, don't have any idea where to begin with.
-what mic?, maybe the cheap (but decent) ones i guess. pang sariling gamit lang naman
-where do i record it? mic to a sort of recording apparatus to my pc.
-do i have to mic all drums? kick, snare, toms, cymbals...i mean mic-ing each of them?
-i dont know how much this would cost me but at least i got the idea.
-maybe things i need to start off.

yung tascam dr1, meron din syang pang slow down ng songs so pwedeng gamitin for studying songs and their drum parts among others....

tsk tsk tsk masama yan

hehe thanks for the early advice sir!
naisip ko na rin na mapapagastos ako pero at least to the minimum expense lang.

pano po ba yung set up nung portable recorders?
