Im planning to score one.

Boss GE-7, expensive SOB but very good sounding.
Boston EQ, my choice (for now, because its cheap and can very well stay clean compared to the boss), also has A LOT of gain if you need to boost things a bit.
MXR 6-band, no gain control, just six bands of eq. Most transparent I have tried.
DOD, weak eq. but workable.

Yeah. I've tried their guitar eq for a while from a friend. The sound would cut down or up everytime it's on. :x

actually correction it sounds better and a lot cleaner than a boss ge7.. seryoso
pero i wouldnt mind replacing my behringer with a boston.. not a boss ge7 kasi i've tried one
na and it doesnt give me what i am looking for (dumi ng tunog eh)

So far the equalizer is my favorite pedal. I use a Boss GE-7 and already mentioned, a bit noisy. Have it modded to take out the noise. What boss has going for it is the "indestructible" casing. Other than that I've seen guys with mostly boss pedals and have the danelectro EQ pedal, if that means anything.

I agree...A/B 'd a GE-7 and a GE700, i chose behringer over boss...pati CS-3 and CS100...
But then again it all goes down to personal preference so try out as many eq pedals as you can. Personally, I like the behringer eq more than the boss eq, it gets the job done (and even slightly better) for almost 1/4 the price. Just needs extra care though plastic kasi.

if you can save up a bit more, i strongly suggest you get an MXR 10-band EQ instead. it doesn't suck tone, allows for more detailed frequency sculpting, has individual volume and gain controls, has a heavy-duty switch installed, encased in a durable housing, and most importantly, it's extremely quiet. it's quite pricey though and it uses an 18VDC power input but it's worth every cent :)

@poundcake: The MXR 10-band is an amazing eq, Im sniping for one actually, but the darned thing operates on 18v which would mean a revamp to my PSU or an extra PSU.
Who has a DC-Brick? haha

go Kalikot Audio then, bro. that guy can build any kind of PSU config imaginable. some of the custom PSUs he has done for me include a tri-voltage output (10x9V, 2x18V, 2x24V) and a compact-type power box with both 9V negative-tip and positive-tip (for Ge-based stompboxes) outputs :)
the MXR 10-band EQ is the best production EQ available in the market today, in my opinion. the Fish and Chips might be more cost-efficient, but the 10-band EQ is the best long-term investment out of all the current selection.

hmm sa tingin nyo head to head comparison ng behringer eq at ng boston eq .. ano advantages ng bawat isa? disregard the casing pls..... i barely step on the pedal except when turning it on kasi.. ü

Okay, heres my opinion:
Boston EQ
The bandwidth of this pedal is much better to my ears compared to the Behringer. It also has a greater amount of volume boost compared to the Behringer. The way each band slider is tailored is very well centered, and the boost (specially in the mids) is very good.
The pedal is also a bit more transparent when bypassed compared to the Behringer and seems to have a lower noise floor compared to the other.
Behringer EQ
The Behringer has a cleaner sounding frequency spectrum overall, with the boost being a little on the weak side. The noise floor is bearable, being a lot better than the Boss GE7. One thing I like about this pedal is how its more responsive to the dynamics of your guitar, but the EQ tailoring would be a little weaker compared to the Boston.
Also, value would favor the boston, which is cheaper and has a metal casing compared to the Behringer.
Either way bost pedals are good, but in different aspects.
I guess it boils down to:
Dynamics vs. Transparency

Add ko lang sa napansin ko between Boston and Behringer
Yung Behringer kahit lahat naka- 0 (zero) ang sliders, iba na agad ang tunog mo, pero sa Boston pag naka- zero lahat ng slider parang naka- off lang sya.. :-)

I use DOD Fx40B. just step on the pedal nicely.. madali kase ma worn out ung switch sa loob, pero ung tonal value nya.. the BEST. This pedal gives me confidence when im playing :-)
