Hello mga sir! I need some help deciding on a new workhorse/gaming laptop. I want something that can still play games decently, but I'm planning on using it for work, presentations, and burning a CD every now and then. I work as a resident doctor at UST, so I need something reliable. The consultants sometimes ask us to burn CDs for their presentations so an optical drive and a dedicated VGA port is a must.
I narrowed down my options to a
Sager NP7155 (

Gigabyte P35 (

The Sager is quite a bit cheaper, but I'm planning on upgrading the primary harddrive to a 1TB Samsung 850 Pro Series SSD [SSD2 - SATA III], upping the RAM to a 16GB DDR3 1600MHz [2x8GB] Kingston HYPER X (CL9) Dual Channel Memory and putting a 512GB Micron M600 M.2 SSD as a secondary drive.
The upgraded Sager will cost about the same as the base model Gigabyte P35. The Gigabyte has a better form factor and a more powerful graphics card, but upgrading it will raise the cost quite a bit.
So, which one should I get? Is the 960m that much different from the 970m? Will the customized Sager have a better overall performance?
