Compressor advice

Hello! I'm looking for a compressor for our podcasting (and drums for the future).

Here's my situation:

- My budget is 8k below
- I also need 2-4 compressors
- I need it to last for at least 3 years
- preferably super low noise or zero noise if possible
- I'm afraid of second hand compressors w/o warranty

I'm currently interested in this, but judging from its comments/ratings from zzsounds and musiciansfriend, its not something that would last. So second opinions and/or an advice will be very much appreciated.

Alesis 3630 - compressor/limiter/gate.. 99$.. maraming recording ang nagawa dito..kung me makikita kang buo na Symetrix 525 mas ok yun. mga nasa 100$ yun.. mas quiet ito.

The best compressor for your budget is the FMR RNC (really nice compressor). I'm not sure if you can find it there in the Philippines. Here in the US they go for about 80-100 dollars used. They go for about 175 dollars BNEW. You can buy them in ebay for that price.I bought 3 used units a few months ago and I bought them for about 60 dollars each.   Google this compressor and you will see that there are hardly any bad reviews about it. Tama lang sa budget mo itong dbx 266XL Compressor/Gate nasa $149.95 , yung 166XL meron dito sa pinas kaya lang nasa P14K so lagpas sa budget mo.

Yeah maganda din yung FMR..kung me mabibili ka sa pinas.. isama mo na din yung preamp nila.. Shinji of Soundcreations uses it.. patunay lang na maganda ito..

Compressors : Alesis 3630 vs DBX 266XL  napunta sa FMR RNC ang boto nila. Sana makahanap ako dito sa Pinas.

Pero mas okay naman siguro yung Alesis at DBX sa Behri's kung eto lang talaga available dito.

Salamat sir stilljey, Ratbuman, at Baldo sa info. Meron akong bagong problema, hehe. Kelangan nga pala matibay yung compressor (physically) kasi gagamitin ko din siya for mobile podcasting.

Meron kayang matibay na budget compressor?

tingin ko pinakamatibay diyan sa tatlo e Symetrix kasi made in USA yun. then pareho na yung  FMR at Alesis.. actually you can't go wrong sa FMR..

locally, the only good budget ones would either be the alesis 3630 or the dbx 266xl.  yun yung same price range. pero there's aphex compressors on sale at audiophile last time i checked, in the sub-10k peso range.

but for portability, try to get one in the half rack size.  parang meron yata samson nun na locally available.  not sure though.  try audiophile.  they usually got the best prices here.

Grabe, di ko na natiis. kelangan ko na kasi ng compressor e. Bumili ako kanina ng Alesis 3630.. Ang ganda! first time ko kasi makagamit ng real time noise gate. hehe. Salamat sa inyong lahat!
