Title: "Drumsport"
Post by: Rosenblatt on August 14, 2006, 09:21:28 PM
I had a dream...

Randy "Blastbeats" VS Virgil "The feet"

The Rules are... there are no rules(sabi nga ni Dom).

Pero dito meron...

Two drummers onstage, two drumsets. Each drummer will outsolo each other by trading fours for four minutes(parang yun mga drum showdown sa mga Buddy Rich Tribute Concerts).

Pero before they start, they have to pick a card containing a theme.

Let's say nahugot nila is Latin so dapat yun solo nila will contain some latin influenced chops and flair kse they will be judged according to this. So ndi lang dapat chops meron ka dapat may vast knowledge ka rin ng different styles of drumming which every good drummer must have.

Pag nahugot naman Rock, rakrakan na ito...

Single round eliminations...

Winner take all...

Winners will be determined by the judges.

Cash Prices and Fame awaits the winner plus a chance to compete in the world finals of "Drumsport".

Dream ko lang ito mga Bro... What if lang naman... :D

Yeah bro. Every good drummer naman should be versatile naman di ba. It's ok to favor a particular style but you also have knowledge of different drumming styles to widen your drum vocabulary. It also widens your soloing ideas.

...and they will play only a specified number of drums and cymbals. its ok to bring their own gear but their setup must to conform to say 1 bass, single pedal, 1 snare, 1 floor tom, a ride, a hihat but no crashes.

now that'll be an additional challenge to your/their creativity

Yeah man. Just like in real fighthing, you are not allowed to bring your armor or sword while your opponent is barehanded.

This is not a beauty contest. Individual talent ang labanan. This seperates true drummers from possers.

Just like in Ultimate fighter, The ultimate fighter should know all the styles to be the best. So should be the ultimate drummer.
