Part time jobs for gigging musicians or aspiring musicians
« on: August 22, 2014, 01:51:19 PM »
Having a corporate full time job will really consume too much of our time as a musician...
any jobs out there that will help musicians pursue their career, that will help them still be able to provide for their family and have
their daily needs met. Without being a jack of all trades and less stress with the reason of improving your craft and still be able to go on gigging.

BTW I'm a graduating student taking BS.IT course,
and for me personally its really stressful working on an  IT related task.
the only skill or task I like in I.T is multimedia but still needed to improve my skills though, and I don't have that much time to
develop my skills in multimedia because of the reason that i rather pursue my mad passion to continue to improve in my music skills.

I hope this thread will benefit all gigging musicians and aspiring musicians as well  :)
Any ideas, suggestions, or share your experience with the job you have right now whether full time employment or part time  :)

How about freelancing? I know some musicians who have freelance work, and some even freelance in music production itself.

kunwari may full time job ka, tapos gusto mo rin mag part-time for extra income (kunwari freelance or selling stuff online, pang GAS or whatever). since yung HR mo yung bahala sa witholding tax mo for your 9-5 salary, pano mo ififile yung taxes mo sa extra income mo, assuming walang witholding tax?

#martyr.

Pero if you still want, you can do a self declaration. procedures are available sa BIR Website. imho, sobrang stress lang nung process.

if I piece things together correctly, yung keys ng banda ni ralph kumukuha ng freelance sa websites stated above. she makes stuff like BGMs and soundtracks. pretty sick stuff too.

The thing is, if you want to be hired, you have to have a good portfolio. (i.e. Soundcloud na maraming plays)

@sonicassault
Visit Paypal.com.ph , madali lang siya actually. it's a payment channel (i.e. fund transfer) na mas mababa ang transfer rates and mas safe kasi siya to transact online.
