there are three types of appearances ata sa Y!M. one lets you be ONLINE, another lets you be INVISIBLE, and the other one is a mix of both; you're really ONLINE, but there are users where you can appear invisible.

for the latter, you're online to everyone, and invisible to some. pag ganun ata, it tells na ONLINE. pag invi ka to everyone, it tells na INVISIBLE.

try using manual detection..

100% accurate if not probably around 90 %..

i have 2 ways

1. Invite them to a doodle invironment.. if nag appear sa kanila yung doodle..
pag ofline sha sasabihin waiting for your buddy to load doodle pag online,, tutuloy yung doodle..

2. ito talaga yung panalo.. napakadali..invite the user to a conference..
pagka offline sarili mo lang lilitaw sa conference room.. pero pagka online at naka invi.. kailangan nya pindutin yung cancel.. para maremove yung window ng invitation thus.. magkakaroon ng message sa loob ng conference room USER HAS DECLINED INVITATION.. buking sha.. hehe
