Title: HELP: Bass Pedal Problem
Post by: nicky0328 on October 15, 2009, 12:25:30 AM
Wassup fellow drummers... :-D im a newbie here on pinoydrums and i need ur help. I noticed my drum pedal suddenly became "Maganit" or mejo tumigas ung movement ng pedal board nya and i noticed dun sa may bearing part nia sa bottom normally below the heels mo pag ginagamit mo, may nanigas na dumi from i think 3-4 years of use... i dunno kung libag un or alikabok haha and i think ayun ang reason nya kaya sya hirap gumalaw.. Ang isa pang problema wula kc syang way para madisassemble, i think fixed ung part na un sa pedal...  ang tanong ko lang ano ba magandang acid ang pang dissolve dun sa dumi na safe gamitin sa bakal or can someone give me an alternate way of removing the dirt... by the way im using a gibraltar prowler double pedal... Please help me! tnx....  :-D

Before you try acid, try WD40. It's an oil-based cleaner used to clean/protect metal and help eliminate squeaky parts. Give the area a generous spray, then galaw-galawin mo lang bro. :-D

Yep try wd40 and try using a toothbrush para makuha yung mga tight areas, dont use acid baka maging worse pa yung squeeking ng pedal mo. :-)

1) Clean with tuyong basahan and old tooth brush.
2) Lube with WD40 or Singer oil or kahit cooking oil pwede..
3) let it sit for 10 minutes and lube again.
4) Wipe clean and check.

repeat steps 2 to 4 until wala ka nang duming makuha...

If MAGANIT padin.. baka bearings na problema mo dude.. OR baka may bato sa loob ng bearings..

If so, gamitan mo nang bakyum while moving the parts.

pag ganun pa din... pare bilhin mo na yung aking BNEW Gibraltar Single pedal kick ko 2K lang.. with warranty to dude...   :-D

Hope this helps..

WD40 is a spray that you can buy on any hardware store. It is use to lubricate metal, clean and protect it from rust and dirt. Hope that helped...

wd40 is the best..ok din yung suggestion ni sir paeng16 regarding the cooking oil...wag ka lang gagamit ng vegetable oil or baguio oil..especially if you place your kit or pedals in your situation..in an airconditioned place kundi matulog mantika nun..saying it in a chef's point of view...hehehe... The best is wd40 or singer oil..as mentioned by our co-forumers.. :-)
