sir kitc:

ive been frustrated with recording to PC via berhinger UCA202, tried a zoom with it and with the but i hate the digital tone i am getting.
so, im looking into going with a usb condenser mic aimed at the amp.

can you recommend an affordable but competitive quality condenser mic for this application?
will it need a separate power source by the way?

thanks.

Can't really recommend a usb mic since they either have monitoring or latency issues that usually compound recording problems, plus, usb mics typically have short cables which can cause problems with placement.

Better to get a good audio interface and pair it with a quality mic. If recording guitars only, the SM-57 is a very good mic to place in front of your cab, as Xelly points out, plus it also doubles as a very good vocal mic.

Sir Kit may tanong ako about Sonar7. Tnx in advance. :-D

Just create an aux bus channel with the reverb inserted in the fx rack. You can create an aux bus by dragging up the bottom of the track view until you see busses A to F and Aux 1 and Aux 2. Alternatively, there is a button with an arrow that toggles the busses into view (it's to the right of the I/O tab).

In the 10 audio tracks, add a send in each track to the aux bus channel (if that send isn't there already) and just vary the send amount to taste. Assign one of the 'A to F' busses as the master bus and make sure every audio track is routed to that bus. This now becomes your master out and your mix should be referenced only to that bus. TIP: I usually like to assign VC-64 to the master out with VC-64 preset 'master mix'.

Very nice interface! You already got 8 analog inputs each with a mic preamp so if you're using 4 mics on the drums, 2 mics for guitars and one for the bass cab, you still got an extra mic pre for the lead vox.

I hope you got a good room to record in.

@zero44 - this thread is about recording, not DJing. Please start your own thread or refer to the numerous DJ threads in this board. Forumer mbenipayo may be able to offer some tips for you.

Just about everywhere... If you're near SM North, at the Annex, 5th flr, there's a stall that sells cables of almost all types. I even found a difficult to find cable for my X-mini there.

Dapat tamang timpla.  Huwag mag peak sa DAW (recording software) mo.  Maski half mo lang tapos timplahin mo from your sound source naman.

Others record ng tondo yung sound source like guitars and keyboards.  Tapos timplahin na lang sa input ng audio interface.
