The Official DiMarzio Guitar Pickups Users Thread
« on: March 24, 2010, 12:38:23 PM »
napansin ko, walang ganitong thread for DiMarzio users...  (wala rin nahanap sa search button)

anyway... this thread is dedicated for DiMarzio users -- share us your tone improvement stories, pickup choices/combinations, wiring schemes, or anything about DiMarzio guitar pickups!

i'll start... recently i've upgraded my RJ 7-string (RG-ibby copy) with a couple DiMarzio pups - LiquiFire 7 on neck, and Tone Zone 7 on bridge

ang masasabi ko... maganda ang combination nila, dahil rich sa mid range!

I have all DiMarzios installed sa mga guitars ko.

3 of my guitars have the D-Sonic and Air Norton combo. One of them is a 7-string guitar.

My other guitar naman will soon have a Crunch Lab and Liquifire combo!

Thank you DiMarzio for the technology!  :-)

PAF Pro is my favorite Dimarzio pickup. kahit sang guitar ko ilagay, whether bridge or neck position maganda yung tunog. for it has the right balance ng mids and open sounding siya. kung may masasabi man ako against it, kulang lang yung output niya as a metal rhythm pickup for the bridge position. pero im defeating the purpose ng pickup kung iisipin kong pang-metal siya di ba? kaya nga PAF Pro yung name.

i also have a HFH installed on the neck position of my guitar, low output and sounds kinda single-coil-ish gaya ng claim nila. pero for me hindi siya single coil ish sound, bright and low output HB lang ang tunog niya.

Once again, i fiddled with the pickup height nung tone zone ko. It was said that the pickup has to be adjusted to find that "zone"...

My current rig sounds bassy, and figured the planet waves cable was the culprit. Cleans were big and boomy, middy and crunchy. So i lowered the Tone Zone's height....

raised it again....lowered....raise....raise....lowered....BOOM! I found the spot. It took me almost 20 mins to fins this spot. Cleans were good enough. Bass was not boomy anymore. I also got rid of some of the crunch. Distorted....man, that's were it really shines. Tight, defined, and clear. Dati, it sounds huge, bassy, middy, but has that sweet lead tone. Ngayon, it still has the lead tone, but the rhythm....Tighter and more defined notes.

Waiting for my Lava cable, then i'll adjust the pickup height again...

i had a Tonezone too, way back 2002-03 pa ata. tuwang tuwa din ako dun sa pickup na yun. i was going for that Slayer type sound na middy, nakuha naman. ngongo na nga tunog ko nun, kasi sobrang taas ko na-set yung height. :-)

Yeah, that's the problem. Kaya you have to spend time talaga para itweak yung height niya. high output...but it doesn't lose it's power kahit na babaan mo yung height. IMO, mas maganda yung Tone Zone pag mababa height. Hindi ngo ngo, pero ballsy pa rin.

It's most probably a D Sonic. Megadrives are discontinued.

Musta C Lab 7 and LQ7?

Ahh beautiful beautiful bro, no problem. I fell in love with it as soon as I heard these pups,  Heavy aggressive sounding with distortion but very articulate and has that singing quality when you play lead tones. The clean sounds are also great.

My first choice was to replace my stock 7 string pickups with Dsonic 7 and AirNorton 7 pero I decided na lang to try the ones that are new so I ended up with the Crunchlab and Liquifire, well worth the risk I'd say  :-)

I have the breeds installed on both neck and bridge. What I can say is that these pick-ups are not meant for a HSH config as the neck is really bass'y and the bridge sounds too thin and a bit treble'y when combined with a middle single coil pup.
