^^^^di kaya remedy yun for bad hand techniques? :-D Sarcastic eh 'no?

Kalimitan gumagamit nun mga heavy metal drummers, diba? Malalaking stick kasi yung gamit nila kaya kelangan ng proteksyon sa paltos.

I remember way back in the nineties when I used to put masking tape on my thumb, index, and third finger.Bad grip techniques ang dahilan kung bakit nagkaka bubbles (paltos) yung kamay ko nun! :|

gloves are also used to minimize vibrations on your hand, less fatigue

these are preferences for us drummers, maganda nga yun, some things may work for us, but may not work for others... yes, gloves prevent blisters, callus and adds better grip. some may use it as fashion...hehehe but based on my experience, these gloves may change your feel and stick response, it limits the vibration. godbless. :-)

i'm against glove's....not realy "against" but i dont think na maganda sya gamitin...
you dont feel the stick's parang pag kamay lang may interaction kayo ng stick

Sorry i could not help not reply to the above comment, so please bear with me (once in a blue moon lang naman ito).

I dont know the guy and i dont have the habit of defending strangers pero as a drummer and a member of this forum, i try to promote cammaraderie amongst us in my own simple way. In this regard, kawawa naman yung spongecola drummer, wala naman siguro nagawang masama yun ah. he could be a forumer or lurker and if i would put myself in his position i would probably find such a comment a bit antagonising, insulting, and would probably have a negative impression of the 'culture' in this forum. imbis na dumami ang mga drummers to share knowledge and experiences with, ma-tu-turn off lang.

this is just my piece of mind.

tulungan, samahan and supportahan lang tayo dito to one another.

anyway, back to topic: I prefer no gloves pero minsan i resort to em when I have lots of blisters from driving, weighlifting and rockclimbing. no choice eh, i cant resist the urge to play drums despite blisters.

maybe un lang ung preferred niyang height sa cymbals. nakakita rin ako ng ibang drummers na may wierd tom and cymbal angles, etc. but they still play good. sa drums naman kasi malaki ung factor ng personal preference e. like me, (eto asa topic na) hindi ako gumagamit ng gloves kasi nawawala ung control ko sa stick. some may wear them to look good, to prevent blisters, but whatever the reason, preference nila un. :-)

regarding cymbal setups, look at Akira Jimbo's, his cymbals are really way up there, and i think we can say that it really works for him... in one of his clinics someone asked why his cymbals are set so high... he answered... "it looks so cool" :-D sabay ngiti... hehehe   siguro it has to do with his triggers (space)

definitely personal preference where you want to place your cymbals....

Less vibration, firm grip, pamporma, what ever. Basta ako ayaw ko naka gloves pag nagda-drums. And drumming para sa akin eh same with sex. Dapat passionate, pag nakagloves, parang naka-condoms. Yep "unprotected" nga ang hands ko pag pumapalo. Masarap naman!
