Saw a similar thread at LPF and I thought this might be useful here since we have a peculiar array of choices (MIA, MIK, MIC?) and strings, after all, can contribute very significant tonal change -- for good or for bad.

Ok here's how it goes:
1.  State the make/model of your gtr that has new strings and the fx/amp setup you played it through;
2.  Give details of the new strings and the ones they replaced -- brand/model and gauge;
3.  Give a comparative review of the new strings in relation to the previous strings' tone when they were also relatively knew (not when they're dead or old and cruddy).

Pls don't post and say, "XYZ strings sound great; they're d best and I can't find a reason to try any other brands!"  That's neither objective nor informative.   The best tonal assessment is usually an A/B comparison and this is the next best thing thing we can do as far as strings.
