you're not getting my point, I only ask what type of pedal should I get first,, and if your suggestion is to pair my guitar PUPs sa magandang pedal.. ok lang ung suggestion na un.. importante pa ba un? kaya nga may pedal effects eh para mapaganda ung sound mo eh, tsaka dapat yang suggestion na yan ang unang mong sinabi saken, para naman hindi naabot sa ganitong usapan,
kc ang ginagawa nyo sumasagot muna kayo, kung meron pa dapat tanong bago dun..
tulad na lamang ng sinabi ni ierofan,
"umpisahan mo muna sa magandang amp pre"
diba parang out of topic naman un?
maganda sna kung tinanong nya muna ako kung anong amp ang gamit ko eh..
diba?..
tsaka dapat maisip nyo rin ung point of view ko based sa topic ko..
You asked for tips on starting a pedal collection, and
our tip is to first have a good guitar-amp combo. Kahit wala ng amp, importante is a guitar that will be matched to the planned pedals.
Pedals will sound different in different guitars. An MT2 will sound fatter in a Les Paul than in a Fender Strat and will sound differently in a Fender then Marshall amp. Nuances yan, from string gauge to type of wood used, even bridge type.
I have been collecting pedals since the mid 90's, and surely siguro after all the hits and missess I have in purchasing pedals I could share naman a decent tip. Many of us here in GC have a good reason to suggest in investing on the guitar first then pedals next because based on our experience, it still boils down to the guitar. A good guitar won't even need a chorus unit or a compressor unit.
And many genres specifically ask for a type of guitar, which cannot be magically conjured from a pedal.
e.g. the hollow-body tone of a jazz guitar cannot be coaxed out of an Ibanez superstrat with the use of pedals. Or mix an authentic surf-rock twang out of a Les Paul using pedals. You could approximate using EQ's and pedals, but nothing beats a Telecaster twang.
And the tip is, have a good guitar to begin with before starting the pedal collection. It does not have to be expensive or branded. It just has to be
good to get the most out of your planned pedal collection.
the guitar will matter.
pedals won't make it sound good. its
the guitar that has to sound good in the first place.
hope that clears a lot of things up for you.
2 cents ko lang talaga
