start listening to the bluesiest jazz players. cannonball adderley, barney kessel, joe pass, charlie christian (my fave), oscar peterson, dizzy gillespie, lester young (another fave), grant green.

For blues, you can listen to Bloomfield, Kooper & Stills album 'Super Sessions' and to Fleetwood Mac's 'Collection Gold' album.  For jazz, I can recommend Patricia Barber, really great instrumentalists. Try listening to her songs like Whiteworld, Like JT or their version of Black Magic Woman, and you will hear how great her band members play their instruments. Well hope this helps. Thanks!
