I like listening to ska and reggae and just want to know what effects or setup that you need in playing this kind of music.

I assume you're talking about guitar set-ups right? Ska's played straight up.... clean sound. Same goes for Reggae.  Most of the time its played straight up clean. You can also experiment with a cry baby wah, delay and chorus depending on the needs of a particular song. When you feel it... you will know it.

this will pertain mostly sa reggae. sa keyboard okay yung hammond sound, grand piano and of course horns..depende rin shempre sa kanta. synth sounds and other techno sounds are present in dub, dancehall, rockers and in other experimental forms.

as with drums, it is possible to play reggae with only the snare, the kick, and the hats. probably a crash too. toms and the ride cymbals aren't that much present in a lot of reggae songs.

it will actually depend kung anong klaseng reggae yung tinutugtog. common yung delay lalo na pag medyo may element ng dub yung areglo ng kanta...pwede rin gamitin ang phaser at flanger...depende talaga yun chong. pwede naman hindi sundan yung nakasanayang tunog ng reggae eh...basta you have to know the rules before you start breaking them..ü
