i use cd/vinyl/controller. its fun be able to use any of these on a gig, just incase ur prefered setup doesnt work unexpectedly. =)

Yup m447 still fit the needs, I used to have m447 20 years ago... for me the Q Bert OM's are better in terms of output and tracking.   :-D

for me the advantage of using ortofons is its easier to place your stylus on your cue marker on the recoed beacuse of its pointed shape and od course its sound. the only disadvantage is its price hehehe.

try to google the comparison of all carts and stylus. itll help...

Advantage of a conventional (headshell + cart) over the concorde (fix) type...
  concorde type fingerlift (plastic nylon) usually breaks, unlike headshell + cart where the headshell fingerlift is made out of aluminum alloy or magnesium. in terms of angle and adjustment concorde types are fix, unlike headshell + cart where you have an option of changing the mounting angle (offset) of the cartridge usually a few degrees for scratching. most scratch dj's do this in order to minimize jumping but the disadvantage is uneven record wear.  :-)

oh, thats why.. thanks! im planning to get the shure m44-7 for now, as soon as theyre available.. btw are there any distributor for ortofon carts here in manila? i heard theyre better than shure products
