Sali ako. Here are the Boss pedals that I own... so I guess it would qualify as addict, hehe.
Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion - I believe this is an under-rated pedal, very versatile Boss MT-2 Metal Zone - this is the legend!!! Old-skool metal tones. Boss CS-3 Compression/Sustainer - bread and butter compressor, and lead guitar improver Boss AD-2 Acoustic Processor - this brings out the best in my acoustic guitar live Boss FV-50L Post-MFX volume pedal - dahil wala akong pambili ng FV-500L, haha (and masyado din malaki ang FV-500) Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor
SD-1, MT-2, NS-2. I already sold the SD-1 and replaced it with OS-2. I still get the boost, but it's way more versatile. (https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vpEFWHQ5bSY/T0D6iY2DOKI/AAAAAAAAJbo/1Fx-SRWOfYM/s640/P1000065.JPG) OS-2, CS-3 (https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-9TATAyIf-0M/T7Udr-idQTI/AAAAAAAAK14/dtW-qvHLiI4/s800/P1000866.JPG) AD-2, FV-50L (https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/75922_10150968677176202_596581201_11785872_1450079674_n.jpg)

Guys I have a question. I was running a CH-1 I had with a Zoom adaptor and it was making this loud humming/buzz sound but when I used batteries for the Ch-1, it was working. I'm sure it's not with the cable because I double checked them and they were working fine. Mayble with the Zoom adaptor I used?

Yup, agree, medyo under rated sya. Parang mas sikat yung SD-1 and DS-1. Pero halos kaya ng OS-2 yung both ng pedals na yun. That's the reason why I sold my SD-1 para I can have a more versatile dirt pedal. Sobrang ok sya.

My first Boss pedal was a MT-2, bought from a real "adik". It was "borrowed" by a friend that happens to have a hard time returning it (that was 6 years ago).
As of the moment, I only have a modded DS-1. :-D

As with the boss dirt pedals, OS-2 nga yung unang Boss pedal ko, tumagal din sakin ng almost 1 and half year lang. haha. very versatile. lalo pag nasa 12 o'clock yung color knob, ganda tumunog eh. haha
Ngayon Boss BD-2 yung mukang tatagal na sakin, swak kasi sa tugtugan stacked with TS pedals. lalo nung pina-mod ko kay Mark yung BD-2 ko as Keeley. swabe, transparent talaga. hehe

OS-2 is love.
After DS-2, MT-2, OD-2r, SD-2, OD-3, HM-3 and DS-1 Brit Mod, OS-2 lang talaga 'yung nakahuli ng mailap na tunog na gusto ko. I even tried the Shredhead, MT-2 Bogner Mod and other overrated dirt pedals pero bumabalik pa din ako sa OS-2. Dahil na din sa simplicity ng features at tweakability. :)

any other boss/boss sized peds we can replace the usual power supply/ switch pedal with?

Line Selectors is usually place in front of the chain so you can maximize your pedal routing. Compressors naman sound best if placed before dirt pedals. The chain usually looks like this; Guitar > Tuner > HiImp Vol > Wah > Compressor > OD/Dist > Mod (Ph, Fl, Ch, Tr) > Filter (Eq, Reverb) > Delay > Amp :-o

Hi, this is basically how your connection would go... The Tuner pala can go after the Guitar din
Guitar > Crybaby Zakk > FV50 > Tuner > GE7 > LS2

I use the same bcb6 pedal board. tanong ko lang, san kayo nakakuha ng patch cables na tulad senyo? hirap maghanap ng payat na patch hehe ang kitid ng pagitan

Anyone who is using an FV50 or FV500? Can you give me your thoughts on these volume pedals? I want to get a volume pedal but seeing that it is a passive volume pedal, would there be problems on signal loss like a significant volume drop if you add this to your chain?

The Boss FV50H is designed to be placed before the chain while the FV50L is to be placed after. H and L are shortcuts to high and low impedance. The FV50L may also be used for keyboards which is a low impedance instrument as well.

OS 2 is my first boss pedal...been with this pedal for 15 great years...swabe tunog nito..kaya di ko ma dispose...for me, this is one of the nice pedal being brought to gadget market... :)
pero parang pumapayat ang tunog pag gamit ko ng OS2. parang may built in EQ, bumabawas ang bass. pero the best ang quality ng overdrive side nito.

I have recently found out that I will swear by my Boss CH-1 for clean Strat chorusy sounds. I've never really tried bowteek chorus pedals, but for me it really does the job that I require it to perfectly. I had an old CH-1 which I sold, and then I later bought an Arion SCH-1. The Arion sounded good, especially for Leslie sounds, but it didn't really feel right for the cleans I was looking for. So now I have a new CH-1 again and it really fits the bill. :-D
I also have a BD-2, but I haven't really extensively heard its full potential. I was wondering how markv's BD-2 mod, which is supposedly based on the Keeley mod, goes up against stock. Any inputs on this? Thanks in advance. :)

Guys ano kayang problema ng BOSS DD-7 ko? bigla na lang nagloko eh. pag tinututok ko yung knob pointer sa HOLD function, may LED at may delay parin sya, parang hindi sya napupunta sa HOLD mode as supposed sa dati na kailangan mo pa sya i-step on to create a loop para mag on yung LED nya. Tapos yung ANALOG mode at MODULATE mode, parehas yung tunog. Parehas na Modulated.
Ano kayang nangyari sa pedals ko sir? Patulong naman. Thanks!

Sir, try mo e clean ung pedal lalo na sa knobs nya. Ano gamit mong supply battery or adapter? Try mo e isolate sa dalawa using battery and adapter source minsan kasi ang delays nagma matter kasi yan sa power eh. Try mo sir tapos balitaan mo kami. ^_^

Solid ang PS-6. One of the pedals I'd keep for quite a while
The AC-3 is a good buy bro, but don't expect too much.
I'm not saying it is a bad pedal in fact, I kept mine for 3 years (I sold it last week because I'm making a smaller pedalboard).
It sounds nice especially with single coils. You will have a bit of trouble though if you are using high gain humbuckers. The sound kinda clips (similar to Amplitube 3's sound when your computer is out of RAM ). Therefore, when I engage it I coil tap or select a single coil pup.
Some purists hate it because it doesn't 100% capture true acoustic sound but for me it was good enough especially that it saves the hassle of carrying another guitar aside from my electric. I think it also sounds better than normal clean tone (IMHO).
One more great thing about it is it can act as an A/B looper. It has 2 outs and the signal will travel on one when it is engaged, and on the other when it is not.
Good luck bro :)

Hi all! I haven't been using my NS-2 for the longest time and when I was cleaning up my pedals earlier I decided to try it on my dirt pedals and here's the issue...
The LED still comes on when stepped on but instead of killing noise, it kills everything including the sound (volume). I tried both a PSU and a battery but results are the same. I asked around and I was advised not to have the unit serviced at Yupangco since they just outsource the repair and charge a hefty amount for it.
So now am asking for help on where to get this pedal fixed. The pedal was acquired from Alex Cerezo of Audiolokal and he mentioned that the pedal has not been opened yet but when I checked it out, I saw uneven solder marks and a couple of jumper wires here and there.

gotta find an LDR with a lower dark resistance and near-zero ohm light resistance since the one im using has a 1Meg+ dark resistance in parallel to a 47K resistor lang eh. try ko parallel sa 10K sa weekend.
^yep. kanina pagkagising i tried something na di ko pa nasubukan with the PS-3. usually i use an expression pedal (a voltage divider) for its mode 11. i found out that shorting the tip and the sleeve (leaving out the ring) yields almost the same result.
here, i used the zabfxtap to toy with the expression input.
take note of the slide switch on the side (normally-closed, normally-open). in NC operation, the tip is shunted to sleeve, depressing the stomp switch opens up the connection. the reverse happens in NO operation. what im wary though is if the PS-3 could handle this method (shunting the sleeve to the tip). i understand the PEEP connects the Ring and Tip soldered to an LDR with resistance to the Sleeve varied by light. i still wonder about the implication kung iwan ko na lang yung Ring and instead solder the LDR across the tip and Sleeve.
EDIT: read the PS-3 manual. it says pwede ang FS-5u which means pwede ang tap switch ko, and the LDR across the tip and sleeve configuration, leaving the ring terminal unconnected. in theory pwede rin ang expression pedal na variable resistance lang ang config, imbis na voltage divider like the EV-5.
hmmm, pwede kaya ang CV control dito?
MORE EDIT: guys, check this link, http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f36/behringer-fcv100-362747/ refer to reply #13.
sumasakit ulo ko sa internal operation nitong PS-3 since this morning.
1) tested last night the expression input of the PS-3. found out that shorting the Ring and Sleeve or Ring and Tip did nothing, but connecting the Tip and Sleeve produces the desired octave effect as per knob settings. sabi sa manual, you can use the FS-5u for the expression input; ibig sabihin a mono cable is is fine which basically shunts the Ring to the sleeve, and using only the tip as the trigger. so by using an FS-5u, you are basically connecting the 3 terminals together to create the pitch shift effect. gotta look at the schem later as i dont feel this is safe for the unit.
2) i decided to just use a stereo cable and hooked up a pot to vary the resistance between the Sleeve and Tip, leaving the Ring not connected. found out that a resistance of about 200-300K works well.
3) may Roland EV-5 ako i got from a trade which i modified dati to have a detachable stereo cable. however, the biggest bummer was that it used an ordinary (think normal) pot which had a 7:00 to 5:00 sweep while Roland uses a special pot for the EV-5 which a narrower sweep. kumbaga, a pot with a 9:00 to 3:00 lang na sweep ang naka-install for the EV-5 (and those similar FV-50 pedals). initially i installed a 100K pot wired as a voltage divider (bridged by a 10K fixed resistor to drop the resistance due to the narrow sweep of the pot), but felt parang may kulang, lalo na sa sweep ng rotation pag-apak sa treadle.
this is when i idea came to me: pwede akong gumamit ng 1Meg pot wired as a variable resistor since ang kailangan ko lang naman eh 200K-300K na sa tantya ko e papatak sa 7-12:00 na limited sweep ng pot. bam! swabe, mas maganda yung sweep ng treadle. i'll compare this sa totoong EV-5 in the future.
as for the optical expression plug, an LDR with a dark resistance of 1M+ is fine, but connect the leads to the sleeve and tip lang of the stereo plug. IIRC, devi - for her PEEPlug - wires the LDR with the Ring and Tip connected, and the other leg of the LDR dun sa sleeve connected. tried her method initially, pero bitin.
poor man's whammy when partnered with an expression system!~

I tried buddy but he hasn't been replying to messages sent to both of his mobile numbers.
that's just a bonus IMO. they prolly realized they could sweep the pitch through variable means.
What i mean is the expression feature of your PS3. Anyways whatever suits your application then go. But the problem with that is your surroundings. Different lighting conditions can be a problem .

Personally, I put mine (back when I had one) between the wah and the dirt. Line A goes through dirt pedals and into modulations. Line B goes straight to the modulations. I just use a 2 female to 1 male converter to connect both lines into my delay pedal.

I'm actually quite intrigued with this one. This is great for those players who like ambient, lush guitar sounds. Which happen to be my cup of tea with my band's style of music. But what really caught me is the fact that it adapts with your playing. Imagine layering and texturing a track with this.

If Boss or boss size lahat pedals mo much better BCB6 fit na fit without velcro(dont like velcro dahil mahilig ako mag palit ng pedals). But if mixed pedals mo then BCB60 as what Rageworx's said. my BCB6 board para may idea kayo (http://s10.postimg.org/tykdblh0p/P3042211.jpg) (http://postimage.org/) upload a picture (http://postimage.org/)

Depends on the pedals that you'll be using. I have 3 dirt pedals kasi so talagang noisy. Both Boss and Surelock cases are good, yung patches are top notch kaya I replaced yung nasa PB1000 ko

I'd like to answer because I have the U600 and have all Boss pedals in it. Kapag naka humbucker type guitar wala noise. Kapag single coil, may noise kapag nka ON ang overdrive(SD-1) pedal. Yung DS-1 wala naman noise. I think the pedal board case doesn't contribute to the noise, I't's just a case lang naman.

Meron akong Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion. As of now, yun palang ang meron ako pero gandang-ganda naman ako pedal na to. Masusundan to ng Boss DD-7 Digital Delay, Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble and Boss BF-3 Flanger. At bibili na rin ako ng Boss BCB-60, tanong lang sa mga meron neto, san kayo nakabili neto sa Pinas? Meron ba sa Perfect Pitch o sa Yupangco?

- master switch (psm-5) - not really in demand now. others consider it as a waste of space. - eq - rare eq's would be a sp-1, pq-4 or a ge-6. if you have a ge-7. its still in production. added value if its the older version. - octave - rare one would be an oc-2 with the name "octaver". common oc-2 only has "octave". - flanger - the hf-2 & bf-2 (with black knobs) are older flangers but not that rare. common are bf-2's with white face knobs and bf-3 . - heavy metal (hm-2) - although an old pedal, not really in demand. you would be lucky to sell it for 2k in the 2nd hand market. - bcb6 (gray board) is more common compared to a black bcb6 called the "bcb6g".
- forgot the DD3. the japan made dd3 is probably the best boss compact digital delay pedal. not too simple, not too complicated. compared it to taiwan made dd3's, there's something in it that i prefer but cant pinpoint.

boss pedals are awesome workhorses. while i only have a few boss pedals with me (i even made it a point to make a pedal board without anything boss, or mxr in it), there is no denying that boss is very near to being perfect in terms of build durability.
it is very hard to destroy a boss pedal, they get scratched and banged up, but breaking them is just way hard. you have to go out of your way to destroy them or break a part.
i also love how easy it is to stomp even without shoes on. yes, most pedal manufacturers dont think about it, but for the most part, we play barefooted in our homes or if we dont, we at least do not want to get our pedals dirty by playing them with footwear on. boss pedals just feel so nice to step on.
they are also really hard to miss... with those boutique pedals, you have to aim your foot well, or else you might miss those little 3dpt switches in a song's chorus. and yes, a big lot of them arent even that responsive (i am talking to you Lovepedal).
also, the boss knobs are placed really well, that there is very little chance a cable glancing over them would change your settings. a lot of boutique pedals do not take that into consideration, so you are out there jumping onstage, and then suddenly your vocalist's mic cable passed on your board, and before you know it, the cable adjusted your volume settings and you wont know until you stepped on your delay and suddenly wonder why its going into self-oscillation. that just never happened with Boss (at least with me).
finally, knob labeling. for the most part, the best knob labels have been done by Boss. any noob or metalhead can understand what the knobs say. you might take it lightly, but man, you'd be surprised to know that most manufacturers have no clue how to label knobs, or put them in a very intuitive and logical way.
i started out with Boss pedals, and it was only after i tried a lot of boutique pedals, is when i started to appreciate the little things Boss did right.
this post seems like a Boss advertisement lol but i really do mean what i said.

Ok din sir, pwedeng SD-1 ang main sound mo, then pang-boost mo na lang ang BD-2 or vice versa. For me kasi, clean boost ko yun SD-1, then main sound yun BD-2 and OD-3, kapag solo, ginagamit ko yun GE-7. Yun MD-2 and DS-1, ginagamit ko lang for heavy sound, pero very seldom.

acquired this old school MIJ Boss DF-2 about a month ago through a trade. love the sound. :-D
it's basically a DS-1 but with a feedbacker (i think). another thing that I noticed is that it sounds way different than the non-MIJ DS-1's I've tried before. because of this, I'm starting to believe the "myth" that the MIJ Boss pedals sound better than the non-MIJ ones :-\

Question mga sir.
I use Boss NS2-MV Shredhead, pag solo, or nasa house lang ako nag gigitara, responsive naman si NS2 walang noise (Amplifier 20watts Marshall, & 60watts stagg ampli). Pero when it comes to gigs or studio practice, mafeedback na hindi nag rerespond actively si NS2, need kong bawasan pa yung volume ko sa guitar para kumagat si NS2. FYI mostly setup ko is full gain/3:00 yung setup ko sa shredhead, sa amps(Mids-8:00, Treble-12:00, Bass 2:00)
Anung cause kaya nito? need ng pots upgrade? nakaka affect yung mic sa studio/gigs?

frankly speaking I think I had at somepoint in time almost all the boss pedals there is available in the market today, either Id tweaked mod them then resell it again.
but for all times sake the best pedal I like in boss are the ff:
CE-5 moded (change one cap. only made a huge analog feel) FZ-5 Fuzz DD-3 OS-2
SD-1 is good but I sold it again anyway, but there is a clone made by denio sd-10 patterned to the sd-1, compared it side by side, And I must say the denio sounds fuller...just my opinion, still I own it and is a keeper though its cheap BD-2 is good also but sold it for the same reason I have for the sd-1, theres something missing in its tone, same with the DS-1, DS-2 is almost good but too harsh so is the MT-2, TR-2 can be good after a 1 cap tone mod change...but as you go along you don't really need a tremolo since you have the trem bar.haha, I could go on reviewing each pedal but to keep it short
the OS-2 is a real gem so is the FZ-5 for their drive pedals
For all boss pedals lovers I would say that modding their pedal really makes the sound different but still the best tone still is at their stock state.

frankly speaking I think I had at somepoint in time almost all the boss pedals there is available in the market today, either Id tweaked mod them then resell it again.

Question for the bd-2 users. I'm planning to buy this pedal. Pag nanonood ako ng demos sa youtube, wala akong masabi, ang sarap ng tunog pero when i read reviews, meron daw "fizz". Ano yun? I dont hear any "fizz" sa youtube demos, so is it something you hear in a live setting? there's a bd-2 phat mod by markv sa classifieds, has anyone of you ever tried that? what does that phat mod by markv do?

Ang alam ko sa phat mod is tinatanggal ata yung harshness nung highs..

will get this pedal on monday.. i only read and viewed some reviews online.. sino na ang naka try sa inyo? how is it? how's it compared to CE2?
will i stick to its stock features or better na ipa MOD.?
thanks!
There is a general consensus on popular forums that the CE-2 is the best/most sought after(i guess) chorus pedal from Boss. A few say they're pretty much the same tonally, except the CE-3 has stereo output, some say the CE-2 is still "better", "warmer", "more organic", while the CE-3 having "a cold and sterile character with a slight metallic ping added to the tone.". The CE-3 is considered to be the "black sheep" in the CE line of chorus pedals. I would get a CE-5 instead.

There is an audible fizz, always, before your note ends. However, in a band setting, di na maririnig yun. I can only hear it when I'm alone and the neighborhood is dead quiet. Other than that, it's tolerable.
Max out your BD2, it goes to almost fuzz like sound. I love it.

To be frank i am not a fan of the BD2. Trip ko lang itsura nya tsaka yung pangalan Blues Driver and it was one of the first pedals i bought 15 years ago together with the CH1, MT2, LS2.
When you crank the gain way past 9 you can hear that uneven decay of distorted tones. Below that and use the unit as a booster its very usable. One of the reasons i got one again, this pedal is LOUD!
OD3 is much more usable on high gain settings, more natural to a point. Go for the OD3 for all rounder.

Yup bro. This one haunts me, almost pulled the trigger on this one but the shop didn't have the box. I also hate tom lee with a vengeance.
If you have the chance and the funds are there call it destiny aligning and get it. What a sound....instant classic.
One of the reasons why I'm no analog purist no more.
you're talking about the tera echo bro? yep, great pedal for ambient sound, dream-pop type of music. there is currently 1 available stock at my local dealer here. i'm saving up on this one. :)

DD7 analog mode way too bright....even the bypass was way too bright.
Tera Echo 2 still want this! If only they had the box when I made up my mind a year ago. The tone knob is pretty useful. Subtle tweaks on the spread knob combined with picking dynamics makes this one a must in my collection.
DM2W is pretty spot on vintage wise feel and sound. Colors the tone for sure but I like the way it does it. Nice warm frequencies to pair it with a tonebender or a mean silcon fuzz. Nice and grungy plus oscillates grindingly. Custom setting is where its at with its delay time doubled making this one hard not too pass over. I almost went for it yesterday but said to myself to take the family on a 5 km hike to the big Buddha this afternoon then sleep the gas off. Now I think its downside is the price. For a little bit more its already Korg SDD3K territory pricewise. Still not all purchases makes sense.

@pallas: nice insights bro. i am planning in purchasing the tera echo sometime this month. ill just wait for my credit card cut-off date. lol. anyhow...i am more of an "ambient"-noise maker so i guess the te-2 will fit right in between my reverb and delay pedals. :)

Go for it. I'm on the TE2 fence but this DM2W is making it a bit tricky. Glad you've got your choice down.

GT-100 o GT-10?
GT-100 is much better than ME-80, pero parang mas user friendly ang mga ME series kaysa sa GT series na multi-effects. i-benta mo na lang 'yung GT-100 mo at makakabili ka ng brand new. may sukli ka pa pambili ng case/bag nya.

hirap maghanap ng dd7. i sold my dd7 so i can buy a tc flashback(few years ago), the moment i had the tc and was able to used it, nanghinayang nako sa dd7... binenta ko rin agad yung tc. Hanggang ngayon dipa rin ako maka tiempo ng dd7. i had several delays after the tc, nabenta din...most of them are boutique- wala, dd7 parin hanap ko. On my current setup, i have 2 boss pedals - CH1 and BF3... DD7 na lang kulang to replace my current delay - mooer reecho ( ok naman),.. DD7 lang talaga hanap ko. i had DD3 din, pero nakulangan ako

SCORE!!
Somebody beat me to it at the shop but they couldn't make it work. Lights up but no effect daw. I had no more time so I came back on my lunch break and it was still there. I asked how much he said P3500 no effect. I countered with P1500 no need to test. He said OK.

Been seeing Nineworkz's videos with his MS-3 and I really like the 'momentary' features. Really adds flavor kahit na simpleng riff lang, tho hindi simple ang riffs ni sir Jam. Would like to have one pero baka hindi ma-utilize nang husto. lol :-P
