Bro magkaiba ang tunog ng vintage at modern sax. . . .an laki ng diperensya. Na-compare ko yung Yamaha sa isang vintage na alto. . ..ang ganda ng tunog ng vintage.

In terms of gig, ang kalimitan na nakikita ng iba ay kailangan pogi ang sax. .. makintab at ginto. . ..pero in terms sa recording. . .the best ang vintage :wink:

Split bell keys ba ito or yung magkatabi na yung keys sa bell? I prefer din na mas maganda yung magkatabi yung keys sa bell kaysa magkabilaan.

i used to have a cavalier,conn stencil (w/ split lower keys, ) that has a very nice tone, uncomparable to dozens of newer saxophones i tried...

Around 18K sya kung iko-convert mo sa peso. Pero talo kasi may problema sya sa intonation saka hindi pantay yung tunog. Nasayang lang pera ko dahil sa pagtitipid. :-(

Post by: cgconn on September 07, 2008, 06:04:17 PM: Para maayos ang intonation ay lagyan ng fixed patch or half moon thick pad. Di ko lang sigurado kung anong klaseng pad ang isinasara part ng tonehole para tumama sa tono ng sax. Good Luck.

I suggest not to buy chinese brands. Magiging double gastos ninyo dahil sigurado bibili ka nanaman ng isa para ma satisfy ka sa tono.

BTW, don't buy chinese made na gawa lalo na noon........but nowadays, some chinese made are good but not all, need to play test it personally.. (based on my experience)...just can't determine which better factory it comes from...sila lang kasi ang may alam...ang newer models ng selmer, conn, buescher etc.. sa China na gawa,..pati ang mga copies../ stencils..-topsax, toulour,the new maxtone etc...kaya dapat may warranty or testing period para ayos..kasi kung looks lang at kunting patunog lang 'kala mo ok na.. dapat madala muna sa gig or jam para malaman mo kung ok talaga.... :wink:

Approximate singil ni mang Pany dyan is 5k, pwedeng 6k max. Meron akong pina general repair noon sa kanya Martin Baritone, siningil lang ako ng 6k, new pads, new corks, felts and body buffing dahil magaspang kasi kaya ko pina slight buff lang para di ninipis ang brass nito.

For alto yata is 3,500 & tenor 3,800. His repair ay talagang quality naman.
