I've also experience them, and considering ang ginamit kong reso ko dati is yung stock reso ng lazer. ok sya if you know how to tune it properly. It was in 2000 when i first got these skins, and as far as i can remember, wala pa ata gumagamit nito sa Pinas, or hindi pa masyadong popular. Wala pa double-ply ang Lazer nun.

i've used both evans and remo. I prefer remo.

Evans Genera G2 is a very good head... we had this 16" Genera G2 head since 2002 at our school kit.. hanggang ngayon eh buhay parin.. after suffering from different pounding of different hands.. for me, easy to tune.. at pag nagseat na yung heads, no more overtones gaano.. which is mas madali itono than pinstripe..

pero which is mas makapal dalawang 7mil Films ang pinstripe right? how about evans Genera G2?

cheers!!!

I prefer Evans drumheads.  They may be a little more expensive than Remo, but it's worth the investment.  The quality is excellent, it's more consistent, it holds its tuning better, and I'm able to get great drum sounds out of it.  And these comments of mine are all based from experiences.

Evans heads are actually around for quite some time already here in our country.  When I started out back in the early 90s, Audiophile was already distributing Evans heads.

During that time, I had bad experiences with Evans.  But eversince the D'Addario company acquired Evans a few years ago, the quality of their drumheads dramatically improved.

Evans Power Center coated head
« Reply #31 on: May 21, 2007, 11:59:22 AM »
Hi!  I just like to get your opinions on the abovementioned head regarding its coating.  I have mine locally purchased (audiophile).  After getting it out of its package, i noticed that the coating is a bit sticky, it seems like the paint coating has not been fully dried up.  Opposite is true with Remo where the coating is really dry.  Due to this characteristics, it easily accumulates dirt.  I tried to wash it with just plain tap water and the coating just easily washed off!  Has anybody experienced this?  A friend of mine also has the same head and has had the same experience on it.  When I read opinions on some drummers in Pearl Drummers forum, they favored the Evans coating as it last longer than Remo.  Is it due to climate?  What I like in Evans is it consistency and ease of tuning but I'm having problems on its coating.  Please share your experiences on this head for those who had used this. Thanks!

Hi wipeout, long time dude....

Regarding the coating, it's kinda like wet, pero it's stable naman and the coating takes a long time before it chips off unless talagang ginamit mo sya rigorously. i had my g1 before tpos i forgot kung anong coated na head sa snare yun, pero i think it took about 2 years before naging transparent tlga yung middle ng snare. pero in fairness, maganda pa rin tunog nya. my power center - reverse dot right now is doing good too. if only my knucklehead p.a. didn't put the 12" toms when we travelled last february. yun tuloy parang may arc sya sa gilid, pero nevertheless, the impact points are doing great....

Thanks for the reply daemonite. I hope I could attend next time.  Hindi naman bugbog yung head when I tried to clean it up, actually intact pa yung coating sa buong surface ng head. I still have my coated reverse dot pero since nabura yung coating nya after ko pinaliguan, pinagtripan ko na lang pinturahan ng latex paint yung surface nya. Pag its time to replace the head, I would still get Evans pero hindi ko na paliliguan!  Hehe!  :-D

I would have to suggest that the most practical heads to get are REMO Pinstripes especially for your type of playing which requires a bit more on the heavy duty cycle..look at them as an investment..they sound great while providing you with quality heads that can last you quite some time..

Hello mga Kapatid sa Drums...he he he

Not the best recording, over head mics lang gamit ko.
