Sir Joric, I hope you didn't misinterpret what I meant.  I just recall inserting img tags for each tube para 'neat' yung review diba.  I wouldn't bother posting a pic each for each tube review. :D

Hey I am in the hunt for great 6550s (not KT88s). AFAIK the KT88s require more plate voltage but they are technically direct drops for 6550s.

The GE 6550a's look nice but too expensive for me.

What's the take on the new Tung-sols?

Have you tried JAN GE 5751's?  The greatest 5751 tubes IMO.  Best for hi-fi, pro audio, and Fenders.  With Marshalls, I dunno, but they seem to like darker and smoother but high gain preamp tubes.

Not yet,but im planning to buy them. Yes i read that theyre the one of the best preamp tube for Marshall. Ironically enough,im trying to get something that has less gain for my V1 and V2 spot. Im want to put 12ax7wa Jans on my V4 as well.

As for power tubes, ill just wait till they fade out.

Hows that Hiwatt treating you?

Supposedly, maganda daw ang Winged SED's pagdating sa 6550's. Susubukan ko yun minsan, as switchable from EL34's to 6550's yung Ampeg ko.

Skunky, ever had any experience with a JCM800 head with KT88 tubes na MIC? Curious. Billy Corgan had that set up during the "Pre- Fester" era. His amp's name was SOUL. And pushed with a few fuzz pedals.  :-D

JCM800 with KT88s?  Not yet.  But I'd best describe my dream JCM800 with KT88s would be:

I agree, these are really good tubes. Has a really glassy quality to it.

Besides Audiophile, Kinetic, and Watson's Raon, where else can you find tubes?

Just got my SED 6550s.  I'll post a review how they'll perform in my late 70s Marshall MK2 Lead.

bagong kaalaman na naman 'to...lalo na ngayon I already have my first tube amp, its (not much) a Laney CUB10. it is loaded with RUBY's 2x ECC83 and 2x 6v6GT, sana my makapag-share ng reviews nila regarding these tubes especially the 6V6GT...and kung my suggested kayo na brand for me to try...BTW, I'm looking for that classic rock tone of the 70's-80's.

The best 6V6GTs are NOS GEs.  I saw a bunch of them at Deeco Farmers Plaza.  Pero mga 7 years ago pa yun.

Great thread. I recently changed the 12AX7 tubes on my EHX Tube EQ from Sovtek ones (stock) which I don't know to Rubies (bought brand new from doubletrouble). I think the Sovtek ones are tighter and more treble biased. Though I love the Rubies because they're warmer, fuller and balanced. Well, what do I know about tubes? It's my first time to compare. If you have used tubes you're willing to lend let me know! Haha. This tube EQ is pretty amazing.
