Am contemplating on replacing my Strats Humbucker with either the Plasma3 or Plasma7. Anybody tried either one of them yet?

Reviews would be greatly appreciated.  :-D

Mostly Casting Crowns and Citipointe Live (Christian bands) - Sounds can be compared to the late "creed" band, the guitar sound I mean. Effects that are pronounced are: distortion, chorus, tremolo and delay.

Thank you

What kind of music do you play?

The PLASMA-3 pickup produces a very heavy and powerful tone! If the clarity of the highs and the plenty of the mid-bottom tone is for you and if heavy metal is something you enjoy, then the PLASMA-3 pickup is for you!

Thanks Gep, I already posted on their FB page and am more into the Plasma7 since the Plasma3 only comes in black (am inclined to the color white for my US strat) - it's an OC thing  :-D

The Opus-1 looks very interesting... are they available for both bridge and neck?

The middle pickup is the one that's reverse wound.

Yes, both are available here. :)

Just bought the VR-Extreme and installed it on the bridge of my guitar at a local luthier here in SG.
I was a bit dubious at first if it's gonna sound exactly as how I imagine it to be.
After pluggin' my guitar to their amp, I was like "uhm ok..so that's how it sounds"
Then I hurriedly went back home and plugged it to my own amp.

It is Tesla's High Output Passive pickup so what best way to test it than cranking up my distortion pedal.
I was surprised how it can handle tons of gain smoothly. I was previously using a Seymour Duncan SH-5 which supposedly is a High Gain pickup (please correct me if i'm wrong) but it sound kinda muddy for my taste. The VR-Extreme however is able to preserve the clarity of notes. I have tried a couple of High Output Pickups and most of them sounded a bit harsh to my ears. But this baby has just the right amount of highs without the shrill.

Downside: The cleans are a bit too high for me on the bridge position specially when I split the coils. But I guess that is something usual for a high output pickup...well most of them, if not all. However, combining it with my neck pick up (Pro track) in the middle position balance things out. Crystal Clear Cleans  :-D
I did buy this upgrade mainly for heavier songs and it shines where it expected it to be.

I would highly recommend it to anyone who is planning a "high output pick up upgrade" that is not as expensive as it's competitors.

I built a tele from the tele kit sold at Lyric -- Basswood body, Tesla VE-TE at the neck, and Artec dual rails the bridge.  Both are Alnico5 I think.  I'm running a 250k volume pot, and a no tone pot (replaced with a killswitch), and GHS progressives strings.

The VE-TE has midrange emphasis, and very glassy tone.  Bright but round.  Not bassy at all.  Its Alnico5, which is usually sounds hot and compressed, but this one sounds more like an Alnico2... low-medium output and sweet.

I'm very happy with it.  It complements the meaty bridge pickup tone nicely.
