Plus the ride comfort is way better sa Ford, sabi nya.

Why not try mazda? They have this lifetime road assistance something promo...im thinking of getting a mazda2..any comments from mazda users here?

di maganda yung BT50 ng mazda if were still talking pick ups tulad ng tinitignan ni Inexperience. pero sa sedans at hatchbacks, poging pogi. the new mazda 2 hatch is such an eye candy even at stock mode.

thanks, while the toyotas is the default choice i looked at the nissan models this time lang. they've nice offers, like konti nalang idadagdag  then you get a 4x4 with select switch instead of a 4x2 only within the same price range. i dunno, if i might need a 4wd, still weighing the options. were after reliability, functionality, cost of operation, availability of parts, quality of ride. not much for the resale value.
if the purpose of getting a truck is for hauling purposes, still go for Nissan. Or if you could wait for 2 more years, Isuzu will slap a 4 banger with a lot of torque Cummins diesel engine on their new D-max models.

Anyway, all of their suggestions are useful for hunting the right pickup truck for you.
Goodluck brother at wag kalimutan ang selfie with the new truck.
 :-D

BT50 is just a rebadge Ford so horror stories are coming once you get a Mazda.

i disagree.

this only applies to old models(2005-ish below) at may stores lang na meron talaga stocks. the new or recent ones, kung di ka papaorder, sa casa ka mismo kukuha. consider its parts as rare commodity na malabo mong mahanap sa tabi tabi pag nasiraan ka.

kahit ask mo sa mga taxi drivers na old nissan at nissan almera ang minamaneho. they will say the same.

the only thing that stuck with me eh yung aircon daw talaga ng nissan. biro pa nung nasakyan ko dati "ang tibay ng aircon nito at very reliable. baka nga bumigay na makina nito, yung aircon mabebenta ko pang good condition na surplus!"

Yes I agree and it is because of the new technology applied on their new engine series. I don't know what was it exactly but what I've heard is, they added some components which changes the compression ratio of the engine or something which reduces the engine's vibration and adding efficiency. Also, for gasoline engines only mostly sedans. Our friend here might be looking for diesel. Nissan parts for diesel engines are everywhere though not considered as cheap.

have a friend who went from a Vios to a Subaru XV.
as long as you're prepared for the increase in Gas Costs and Maintenance Costs, there should be no problem.
my friend has been scratching his head on the increased costs kasi literal double the costs daw for gas and maintenance, pati sa registration.

the jump in engine displacement pa lang should be enough indicator kung ano dapat mong paghandaan. also consider the fact that the car is from 2010. it may not be tuned to be as efficient as it was when it first came out of the dealership.

then again, you mentioned that it will be a weekend car. okay lang, wag lang sana long drives lol - this comment is coming from someone who's very stingy in gas usage lol

sunday car lang tapos long trips probably sa bicol kung dadalaw sa bahay. actually mas madalang sya sa sunday car e since  working overseas ako. siguro magagamit every 2 months a year.

thats one thing that is preventing me from going 100% kasi gas prices e killer na talaga even if 2 months lang sya magagamit within a year.

with that said, kinda thinking of just getting a crdi accent hatch. was talking to ray from stingray performance and so far maganda yung feedback nila coming from the club about the crdi. diesel na turbo pa. a couple of upgrades can make it a sleeper.

I believe the accent has a durability issue regarding the turbo.
I spoke to a number of taxi drivers about it. maaga din ata ang palit ng timing belt/chain.
FWIW.

what he did was went to Ray to change the turbo impeller, bigger inter cooler, a properly measured cai and full exhaust. talagang humihigop e. owner told me that he
was going around 140-150 when we were running straight. si vios kasi around 140-150 nanginginig na. running on 17s 205/45 ang setup ko.

but for now, si impreza vs accent ang nasa isip ko. GAS vs DIESEL. FWD vs AWD. yung price e di rin nagkakalayo.
2010 impreza sa olx is around 450 to 400. then 2013-2014 crdi is around 420-450. magkakatalo na lang sa odemeter.

FWIW.

sa bhp forums around 100k-150k lalabas yung issue regarding sa turbo, most likely sa impeller being worn out, etc.
pero kung di naman siguro ganun kadalas ang gamit e tatagal sya. nun nasa pinas pa ako, nacalculate ko na around 100k km si vios after 5 years.
pero this time, stuck at 55k something on her 4th year (siguro medjo mataas pa ang value kapag binenta).

Gen3 vios is the best there is hahaha #Biased
I heard better yung Gen2 interms of power to consumption ratio.

Maganda ang throttle response plus may overdrive switch for a manual feel and good engine braking. Aircon is superb at low to medium setting sa thermostat. One of my choices ito kung magkakaroon ako ng chance na maka-bili. Hehehe.

but that was mine on stock headers/muff. not sure kung anong effect nya kung naka full exhaust with headers.
