nako titigilan ko na nga ang pag gamit ng MC metal polish... tsk tsk... matagal na ko gumagamit nun...  :(

Hindi naman daw abrasive yun, kaya ok lang. Pero di rin ako sigurado.

Please do not use GLO or other non-cymbal-purpose cleaners. use corresponding brands for appropriate cymbals...zildjian to zildjian-paiste on paiste-sabian for sabian. do not attempt to use "not having enough funds" as an excuse to buy general purpose metal polishers, you'll really regret it i swear to you cross my heart, the long term effect is even worse you might burn down the hardware that sold it to you. if you cannot afford one yet, be patient, save up and buy one later on.  :P

Please do not use GLO

I agree!

I have a drummer friend who, during our high school days, used Glo on his then-brand new A Zildjian cymbals.  The finish lost its lustre and the sound quality of the cymbals were affected.

Reserve your Glo and other household metal cleaners for your military belt buckles and household brass crafts... Not for your cymbals.

Hope that helped...

oo.
ang zonrox kasi is corrosive (sp?).
pati protective coating matatanggal.
and tama si suspendead, wag na wag kang gagamit ng pang-linis ng ibang bagay.
cymbal cleaner + soft cloth + konting tyaga = clean looking cymbals.

minsan ginagawa ko rin yung soap and water na panglinis pag nauubusan ng cymbal cleaner. basta be sure to COMPLETELY DRY THE CYMBALS RIGHT AFTER CLEANING. and be sure na walang maiiwang sabon.

peace!

so may abrasive/corrosive effect ang MR. Muscle? kasi ginamit ko to once w/ the help of scotch brite na FINE.. i scrub along the groove pra hindi sila masira.. in a circular motion.. sinubukan ko ito sa isang cymbal na nakatambak sa band room namen.. ehehehe.. abay luminis! hehehe..

P.S. - this is not my real method of cleaning.. i just experimented. hehehe..

cheers!!

Sir kung linis din lang pag-uusapan, lilinis talaga yan BUT the protective coating which protects the cymbal from rust and damage will be gone once you do that. Sorry to say but i did that with a cymbal before and it went from Wow cymbal to WTF happened. Imagine mo na lang, you saved a lot of money just to buy a very good, High-end cymbal and just waste it with cleaning method some crazy guy or gal made-up. Ang laking sayang nun... Just my opinion, the final decision on what you will do is still up to you...Peace

nakakahilo nman to red horse b? Dude!!......it's quite obvious kya may red horse ay para sa tyan.....and scrubbing pad is panglinis ng kaldero tama sila jun and pmack ung coating ng cymbals masisira malinis nga pero cra nman ang coating sayang ang money, time and effort sa pagkiskis.......... kung alang cymbal cleaner eh soap and water lng + konting tyaga will do. basta make sure that alang ng sabon at tuyo na ang cymbals bago mo store or gamitin...........

what do you guys suggest to clean the finger prints on cymbals? my crash has some finger prints and its changing color a bit. when I tilt the cymbal you can see where the prints are. pls post some cleaning suggestions. what do you guys use to get the cymbal nice and shinny also?  thanks!

ako bro, punas lang with a dry cloth.
once a year pino-polish ko yung mga brilliant finish cymbals ko. pero yung mga traditional finish cymbals ko, mas marami eh kaya punas lang dun kasi kahit ano naman gawin ko di kikintab ng todo yun.
tapos the rest of the year pag may mga fingerprints na medyo madumi na tingnan, punas lang with a dry cloth. medyo may kadiinan ng konti yung pagpunas ko.

i tried wiping them. but the finger prints dont want to get off...
its turing orange where the prints are...
I finger prints got there from choking the crash (is that correct?)

hmmm
nangyayari din sa cymbal ko yan.
and yes, choking is the term, i do that too.
try mo cymbal cleaners, yun sigurado matatanggal yang fingerprints.
pero wag masyado madiin baka masobrahan naman.
