the lesson here is...

be patient.... yun lang no more no less....

so what kung kulang ang gears, hardware and cymbals mo ngayon... if you are willing to wait and spend money sa high end na gamit... that goes to life na rin.... ganyan kami mag asawa.. why buy a sofa na maganda nga pero madaling masira.. bili ka na ng narra na sala set... worth all the gastos.... pakintab ka lang ng pakintab, ditto with your favorite band equipment (drums, guitars, amps etc)...

I learned this the hard way.. gastos ako ng gastos ng mga low end equipment.. bibilin ko ZHT Crash worth 4k (eventually ibebenta mo ng mas mura ngayon to) tas next month may dumating na cash.. syang!!yung 4k, kung dagdaggan mo ng 4k ulit, May A Custom Crash ka na.. sulit diba.. its worth the wait talaga.. so ngayon ganun ginagawa ko.. eto pa isang option.. kung merong papayag ng terms dyan mas OK... kyo mag usap kung panu ang deal nyo.. pero di mabigat sa bulsa yun... nga lng trust ang issue ng ganun.. different topic na yun.

ako nabili ko yung 90s planet z for 2k gonna sell it for a higher price hehe ok narin yun na investment may ginagamit ako habang nagiipon
san pala makakabili ng zildjian a custom ride na bnew? at magkano hehe

good luck on selling things highier... sana di mo na lang sinabi...

lam mo naman dito sa PM, the more na mag baba ka ng price the faster your item is going...

there are a couple of A Custom rides that are sold sa classified... ranges from 6k-8k

nasa baguio kc ako hehe kahit mahal dito binibili hehe yung zbt 3 nga dito 12k grabe

pero pinagiisipan ko parin kung ibebenta ko yung ride ko maayos pa kasi yung tunog niya compared to other low end models ngayon

nice one peeves. *apir* di hamak na mas diplomatic ka sa akin. kaso parang pareho lang tayo ng sinabi. haha

bottom line: spend your money wisely, prioritize what you'll be spending on, and be patient in saving and in waiting for good deals. having less money doesn't mean it's okay for you to waste it on inferior products--dapat nga mas maingat ka pa sa pinaggagastusan mo e.

consider your gear an investment--buy only the good stuff, even if it means waiting a bit more. in the end, mas makakatipid ka, at kung sakaling kailangan mong ibenta, mas may resale value.

also, consider your gear a reward--kung gumagaling ka na, dapat lang rin na maganda gamit mo di ba?

BUT hindi naman tyo un nsa lugar nun ng post nun topic. ang topic nya - meinl, hcs vs sabian solar vs planet z vs paiste 101.. pingkukumpara nya un mga LOW END n cymbals na to pra cguro mgkaron sya ng kaalaman. PERO alam naman nya cguro ang mga high end cymbals,gusto lang nya malaman un mga low ends. knya knyang opinion lang naman yan. ^_^

Zildjian Planet Z set (14,16 & 20) - 9k
Zildjian ZBT (14,16,20) - 11k
Sabian B8 (14,16,20) - 10k
Meinl Headliner (14,16,20) - 9k

ako sabian lover ako pero i've tried B8 and didnt liked it. naingayan ako at parang bakal yung pinapalo ko. maybe its just me.

tried ZBT at so far ok na rin sya for me. pero nagsawa ako.

kung tight budget ka sir i recomend ISTANBUL cymbal set. mejo mas mahal lang sya (around 15k) but experienced drummers here uses this and say its really good. utangin mo nalang yung 4k sa mom mo kasi lab ka nun!

Of course, dapat coupled ito with a mindset na you are going to get good in playing drums, hindi 'yan masasayang.

If ever naman, mataas pa rin resell value mo if magsawa ka na.

Agree ako na ang cymbals dapat maganda from the start, kesa mag upgrade from a beginner's set. Buy quality second hand cymbals. Ako all sabian, 2 AAX, 2 HHX, 3 HH, 1 Paragon. Pero All second hand. less than 50% ng original price. looks maybe 70-90% new, sound is 100% the same as new.

hard hitter ako but they still survive and still at excellent cond..

its worth it.. tunog Sabian/Zildjian din sila just pick
mabuti kasi hand hammered iba iba yung tunog..

I never liked Sabian B8's in the long run since they tend to crack IMO. Zildjian ZBT's are cheaper than A Customs but A Customs can really last longer and they still sound so brilliant! Paiste and Meinl IMO are cheaper but effective alternatives.

Why not gawa ng poll as to what is the best starter cymbals among the list. What do you think? It seems that Meinl HCS has the lead. Ganda ng tunog for me...

Question also... do you know any pro's who uses brass as their cymbals? What ba advantage ng brass compared to bronze? Thanks

sir actually ung planet z hindi na po yan ang low end ng zildjian. most planet z cymbals that you see in the market ay galing na po ng china, hindi po sila officially made ng zildjian. and low end na po ng zildjian today are the ZBTs. just to inform you po. kasi po and mga planet z mga sirain ng cymbals eh, sa una lang maganda pero pangit tlga.

but do take note of ZBTs, kasi po matibay tlga mga un, i think if you would take care of them they would last until you can get yourself a better set of cymbals.

im a ZBT user ever since i started playing drums and yes they do deliver, they sound good and they last, basta alagaan mu lang. ive used sabian B8 sa studio kaso ang pangit, parang low end tlga sobrang ingay.

ano mas trip mo zildjian ZBT o istanbul agop?
ano mas versatile sa dalawa? metal o punk ang bagsakan.
