I dont want to loose your love

Take me now---David Gates

Sorry but David Gates is not a One Hit Wonder. He had other hits like Never Let Her Go, Goodbye Girl.

I Don't Wanna Lose Your Love? You might be talking about You Love by The Outfield, if that's it then the Outfield has three hits, this one, All the Love In The World and Since You've Been Gone.

My sharona-The knacks
Two princess-Spin Doctors

The Knack (without S) though it was their only number 1 hit, they have another hit titled Frustrated. They released another album after the debut Get The Knack (which includes My Sharona and Frustrated). They broke up after that album because it was a flop (despite THAT being a gold record) but reunited 6 years later. Only to break up again in 1992, reforming again in 1996 and finally breaking up for good in 2010 at the death of vocalist Doug Figerre.

The Spin Doctors has Two Princes, Little Miss Can't Be Wrong, Cleopatra's Cat

upside down - 2 heads crack

It's actually Two Minds Crack. Before hitting big with Upside Down, they also have another sizeable hit with The Hunger And The Greed that sounds kinda like Howard Jones.

That ditty that has that chant "Aring King King King" is actually titled "Magic Carpet Ride" (with a sample of the standard Chili Cha Cha) by a band called The Mighty Dub Kats - in reality TMDK is Norman Cook and his close buddy Gareth Hansome (a.k.a. GMoney). Norman Cook started as a bass player for The Housemartins before becoming a famous DJ all over England eventually finding fame for himself as Fatboy Slim!

Here are what I think are REAL one hit wonders:

1. Little Star - The Elegants
2. There She Goes - The La's
3. Rico Suave - Gerardo
4. Because I Got High - Afroman
5. Born To Be Alive - Patrick Hernandez
6. Turning Japanese - The Vapors
7. Pass The Dutchie - Musical Youth
8. The Purple People Eater - Sheb Wooley
9. Little Darlin' - The Diamonds
10. Bad Day - Daniel Powter
11. Alley Oop - The Hollywood Argyles
12. Mother In Law - Ernie K-Doe
13. Telstar - The Tornados
14. Pipeline - The Chantays
15. Sukiyaki - Kyu Sakamoto
16. Dominique - Janine Deckers (a.k.a. The Singing Nun)
17. Judy In Disguise (With Glasses) - John Fred and his Playboy Band
18. Harper Valley P.T.A. - Jeannie C. Riley
19. In A Gadda Da Vida (In The Garden Of Eden) - Iron Butterfly
20. In The Year 2525 - Zager & Evans

nice information as always, sir bryan!   :-D

some trivia/questions about the bands you mentioned...

- "little star" by the elegants was coincidentally the #1 hit in america the week michael jackson was born.  unfortunately i don't know anything about the elegants aside from their being a one-hit wonder...

- the tornadoes featured george bellamy on guitar...name may not be familiar to most, but his son, matt bellamy of muse, is definitely a familiar name.  and the tornadoes were, for some time, eccentric UK producer joe meek's house band.  alam ko din katropa nila sina ritchie blackmore, when they were all session musicians for meek in the early '60s.

- weren't the hollywood argyles the first band of runaways manager/"svengali" kim fowley?  and is that him on lead vocals?

yup, "i think god can explain" was a bigger hit than "yeah whatever"...

and "shelf in the room" was also a big rock hit for DOTN...

My Male Curiosity - Kid Creole and the Coconuts

Alone Again (Naturally) - Gilbert O'Sullivan

Zoom - Fat Larry's Band

People Alone - Randy Crawford

City of Angels - The Miracles

"city of angels" was the album, "love machine" was the hit.  may cassette tape si erpats nun dati...till i recorded over it as a kid (with his reluctant blessing).     and they're technically not one-hit wonders since sila yung backing band ni smokey robinson before splitting from him in the '70s...
