Look for the "X" icon at the lower left hand side of the thread. If you created the topic to begin with you can still edit it or even delete the whole post. Hope that helps! Welcome aboard and post often ok?

i hope this is the right forum to report this, but at least one of the posts i had made earlier today in Anything Goes Talaga! had mysteriously disappeared.  and AFAIK there was nothing inflammatory in said posts, and i had stayed on-topic...the thread was about illegal drugs, and while i shared my experiences with weed, i did not in any way encourage others to smoke up...

i believe there were other posters in the "Bawal Na Gamot Experience" thread whose posts also disappeared in the same early-afternoon time frame today.  another forumite, the_jj, reported the same thing in the "Do You Read Magazines?" thread...she had to make the same post twice, as it didn't appear on the thread the first time.

one or two missing posts is no biggie, but i'm still curious...what the heck happened to our posts?  thanks...  :-)

i think it's a glitch in the system, since the missing posts are still in my list of posts, but not on the threads themselves.

hi sir/s,

I'd like to respectfully ask why my number of posts reverted back to zero after the deletion of an old thread of mine. I know that most of my posts come from that thread but I still had numerous posts from the other boards. Please help.

Thank you in advance.

I'm not aware of any thread deletions lately although it's entirely possible that some old threads may have been archived by the admins, which would explain some of the recent maintenance downtime. This would mean moving those threads from the active database thereby resetting your post count. On the upside, making the database smaller (and more manageable) will mean less forum downtime.

It's no deal killer if your post count goes down, nor your status. What's more important is your participation, though.

Thank you sir KitC for answering my query. I'll just have to work my way up. And just like what you said - It's no deal killer if your post count goes down, nor your status. What's more important is your participation, though. - my thoughts and sentiments exactly...

Thank you again and Good day to you!

if some of you are referring to the classifieds:

I delete unnecessary posts and comments, and bumps by non seller..and posts that turn into a chat, basta...anything that falls under the violation of our rules and guidelines.. or nagaaway.

ang walang kamatayang...

"ang ganda! up ko to" by Pedrong Kulit..

or

"puwede trade?"...eh for sale ang nakalagay.

mga outside the transaction comments or queries should be PM-ed.

Hello to all and to whom it may concern,

I started two threads po sa Bass Place na medyo nagiging active at interesting these past few days:

* How did you achieve your uniqueness? (EDIT: What is your signature or trademark)  - http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,118084.0.html

* Bass pre-amp gadgets questions (pampalawak lang po ng kaalaman :) ) - http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,117643.0.html

Nagtataka lang po ako kasi according to some of the contributors, they initially post some answers pero nawawala kaya they do re-posting.

So in short, malaking panahon ginugugol ko bago mag-post. :D

I think system error kasi I know naman na my posts are not etchically unacceptable para i-delete ng mods. Kaya pa po ba i-recover iyon? I think kaya naman kasi katulad last week, dun sa isang thread, nakita ko na last post si Sir IncX pero pagbukas ko nung thread, wala na yung post. Tapos kahapon, nag-comment ako na "Bakit nga pala parang nawawala ung initial post ni Sir IncX? Hehe!" (http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,118084.30.html). Pagtingin ko kanina, andun na ulit ung post. :D

Thanks po!

Title: Re: Deleted Posts / Missing Posts / Post Counts *merged*
Post by: KitC on May 17, 2010, 11:02:25 AM
Ok, here's the thing...

Post counts were originally meant to indicate activity. In essence, the more posts, the more active you were to the community. Unfortunately, the number of posts also did not indicate the quality of the content of one's posts. One could post smileys and this would get included in your post count. Another thing, people seemed to associate one's status with credibility or as a status symbol that when reaching addictus level, one becomes respected and untouchable. I'm sorry to say that is not always the case. Too often, many reach addictus level by posting smiley-only posts, IBTL's, or a hell of a lot of 'up for you' posts in the classifieds, clearly just to reach a status level that has now lost it's meaning.

As mods, we have been trying to contain these needless posts by deleting them or controlling nonsense posts. Believe me, we can spot it when someone is trying to increase their post count just to increase their credibility.

Instead on concentrating on a number or a title which has no bearing, why not concentrate on the quality of your posts? It will go much further in terms of respect and credibility.

here's a way to fix lost threads:

1.) change the "/" after index.php to "?" instead
2.) change the "," after topic to "=" instead

for example:

Before:
Here's one: http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,167955.100.html

After:

i think that's my bad sir,

there was a lot of unapproved members sa smf,
and nag clean up ako to send out delete unapproved account account that is older than 120 days
and send them an email message

ill have to investigate why you're account got that email, when it should just be
those unapproved members

apologies sir if that email frustrated you, it was not intentional

here ya go! :-D

here's a way to fix lost threads:

1.) change the "/" after index.php to "?" instead
2.) change the "," after topic to "=" instead

Guys, just PM me if there are still errors with the threads you've bookmarked so we could further assist. cheers!

medyo madami kasi pasaway sa classifieds na nag-multiple UP sabay delete para di mahuli. kung nagkamali naman ng na-post or napostan, meron naman modify feature to edit it. it's best to leave the remove feature to the mods. thanks! :-D

I don't know kung meron na nitong topic na ito.  This goes for the moderators.  I have observed that all old posts or thread made kapag na-delete na ng moderators, nababawasan ang number of posts na ginawa natin.  Now my question are for the moderators, paano kung ikaw ay three 3 years ng member at nagpo-posts, at may status ka ng, let's say Forum Fanatic, then the moderators deleted all your old threads, syempre mababawasan ang number of posts mo and surely mada-downgrade ang status mo from fanatic, kunwari to senior member or the worst newbie, how's that? Isn't it unfair? Please enlighten mods baka mali ako.

Mas maganda yung function ng post sa classifieds is to update or UP the thread. hindi para mapataas yung post count. So many forumers here are exploiting the UP! post. Posting many threads on many classifieds. If I could be a moderator for 1 day idedelete ko lahat ng unnecessary post sa classifieds.  >:D

Here's how:

1.) click on the profile tab on the main dashboard seen on the upper left part of your screen.

2.) you would see 3 tabs by then: Profile Info - Modify Profile - Actions. select the "Actions" tab

3.) click "delete this account". it would then show:

"Please note that the forum moderators will have to approve this account's deletion before it will be removed."

Are you sure you want to delete your account?

Enter Current Password then click yes.

From 7 pages to 1. What happened? I just requested to have my bumps deleted and even marked my bumps as Please delete. to make it more easier to view. I didn't want all of the post to be deleted since I was keeping track of the people I've dealt with and their feedback about our transactions.

Mods, please explain to me what happened. If it is reversible, kindly do so.

Mods do a thankless job. IMO. Rules are a privilege extended to the members, but ultimately they do what they have to. It's a framework or a structure to keep things in line. Seeing as you have made a thread about how unhappy you are with a mod's action, on a request you have made, I'm inclined to think they wouldn't grant you any favors soon. The wording in this new thread you've started is far stronger than the last one, and you've chosen to address every one of them.

If it's anything of help, you could try going to the global mod or admin privately, if communications with the mod in question have broken down. Assuming you've tried that, of course. Diplomacy has its perks. Best of luck. And I hope you get the problem sorted out.

Tried PMing mr. mod first before creating the threads. His reply was in a refined manner, but his reasons were inconsistent as far as what I've seen last night.

I chose to address all of them since I don't want to mention names. They know themselves enough. If some of them are disturbed or somewhat affected by my message, then it proves that they are guilty of their actions.

Maybe the only thing that I can do right now is pm sir KitC or Jim Ayson. I really hope this gets sorted out very soon.

gunslinger, I'm curious...

The thread is 2 yrs old and the item was sold last January. As far as we are concerned, this is a completed deal and is technically a dead thread, hence subject for archiving. We have been in the process of consolidating old ads in the classifieds... why do the comments there concern you so much? Somehow, I'm reminded of that old saying about beating a dead horse.

Not just 'the' item. If you saw how I kept my thread, you would know. Much like "saving the conversation for future reference".

If it is possible to revert it, then please let me know. If not and the new policy "ads will be up to 2 pages only", then I have no choice but to abide by the rules. Thanks!

Deletion is not reversible.

Part of the mod's responsibilities is housekeeping and we have been trimming down on inactive threads and completed transactions, the latter of which your thread falls under. I apologize for any inconvenience, but there are certain mod actions we have to undertake in order to properly maintain this site.

it was a system glitch caused by the recent server migration. most, if not all posts got their numbers affected. most of the post counts that got affected were the ones either tied to a poll or were created/started by any forumite as the TS. No word as of yet as to how this could be fixed but we'll be coordinating with admin re this matter. thanks!

philmusicus addictus na ko once, biglang balik800+ post ko. hhehehe

it might be possible that your posts were deleted due to the cleanups being done at either the classifieds or the forum boards. though it doesn't necessarily mean that your posts were intentionally deleted, it may had been that your posts were part of certain threads that had gone awry etc and had to be taken down, thus affecting the numbers for you and anybody else who posted alongside these various threads. please be reminded though that post counts should not be considered as a measure of worth, trust or tenure, since it's specific worth is only to measure online activity. people who post a lot of BS just to get higher post counts are just the same with people posting decent stuff when it comes to numbers. honestly, it's the content that matters at the end of the day. cheers!

@ Forum Members,

Here's a possible answer to RE: Post Counts

Post counts are disabled in the AGT forums. You can post in Anything Goes as much as you like, but it won't add up.

Thus the discrepancy. I didn't actually check but I believe Mod KitC.

Look for the "X" icon at the lower left hand side of the thread. If you created the topic to begin with you can still edit it or even delete the whole post. Hope that helps! Welcome aboard and post often ok?

if it still doesn't work, PM us so we could take it out fer ya!

Maybe we could ask our dear beloved MODS after deletion of some post, just leave the counter as is.

even the greatest mathematical equations would not be able come up with an answer if such a thing could be possible.

FYI: post counts are either deleted due to:

1.) classifieds post which are already sold/done/reached tenure maturity (simply put - posts that are old enough to be retained).

2.) OT Posts - e.g. inappropriate bumps, UP's, one liners etc.

3.) Offensive threads/posts - if a thread is deleted, so does all the posts and post counts.

4.) SPAM posts

Well then, seems that most of your posts were part of those aforementioned criteria that's why they were removed/deleted. mods don't delete threads just for kicks mind you! it's hard work enough reading through each and every one, filtering out which ones should be retained or removed for that matter.

Here's a tip for anybody and/or everybody else that happens to have the same problem:

For every post or thread that gets deleted, you're allowing PM's server to get enough room to breathe; the site gets more space, leading to better performance and optimization. There won't be any clutter, bandwidth would be fully maximized to its full capacity. that ever-precious space that you paved the way for would be able to cater to more sensible posts, threads and topics that for sure you would be able to benefit from. so think about it, does your post count or ranking matter vs the greater good? regards!

As the godfather has pointed out, post counts are disabled in the AGT forums. There were a lot of members posting in the AGT, but not in other boards which lead to them being addictus but not contributing ANY substance to the other boards. This led to the likelihood of assuming an 'air of respectability' under false pretenses therefore we decided to disable counts in the AGT. Another method some devious forumers would use were the ubiquitous UPs; some would up at least 10x a day so we put a stop to that practice and when we have time to peruse the older posts, we delete unnecessary UPs as much as possible - even some ups in closed/locked transactions. No, this action cannot be reversed.

This forum ain't no ragnarok, kids. Get over it.

Pasensya na po pero mahalaga po kasi ang testimonies ng mga previous clients for references sa future transactions. I understand it's because of the clean up for more band width but as I look at the forums,i noticed na madaming members naman po ang super daming post counts.

I understand it's because of the clean up for more band width but as I look at the forums,i noticed na madaming members naman po ang super daming post counts. Medyo matagal na po ako dito sa philmusic and sobrang dami ng transactions with fellow forumites. Tanong ko lang po,lahat po ba ng members nabawasan ang post counts? Salamat po. Godbless!

I've been buying and selling stuff here since April of '06. And I was once tagged as Philmusicus Addictus. But now, I'm just a Forum Fanatic.

the recent post counts that were reduced may had been affected by thread movement from GC et al to AGT. most of the post counts in the mini blogs and other stuff were deactivated the moment it was moved to AGT.

edit: deliberating with other mods re mini blog movement. would update it in the said thread.

Title: DELETED ACCOUNT?
Post by: huwaki on January 10, 2013, 08:22:58 AM
Hi everyone! I just have a question. I don't know what happened but late November last year, I created my account under the same username (huwaki) and same email address. I was able to post some threads and I've sent a lot of PM's but after Philmusic's system went back, when I tried to login, it's giving me an error message of -invalid username-, so I recreated everything and was able to login which is a good thing. But my concern is my messages and some buddies ehehe. What happened? Hanyare? Is it possible to have all the messages back? Thank you.

(I don't know if someone already made a thread regarding this matter but please answer me. Thank you.)

PM was restored from the Nov 24, 2012 server backup. Your registration data hasn't been included yet or was logged beyond the time frame of the said server backup. I checked the member database as well for any registration data for username "huwaki" and only the one registered at 01-08-2013 showed up. Unfortunately, we won't be able to retrieve any of your old messages. It's not an isolated case either FYI. sorry for the mishap!

welcome sir!

i think pwede ka mag reply sa mga threds pero hindi ka pede gumawa unless neitizen ka na ...

That's correct. Maganda kasi na mapag-aralan muna ng isang newbie ang culture ng PM, rules and regulations et al bago makapagpost and make a mark sa community.
