Bro,
maybe try this first.....S/R module then immediately EQ module
Lo Gain-Flat 0db
Lo Freq - 100
Lo Mid G- 0db
Lo Mid F-250
H Mid Gain - 0db
H Mid Freq - 2.1k
H Freq - 10K
Hi Gain - -10db to -20db (experiment)
Level - Flat to +2db

This remove some FIZZ and aliasing for my High Gain Patches. This is my own experiment setting, give feedback kahit masama sa pandinig mo, just wanna confirm this kung puwede pa hearing ko

Hope might help..

Roger

cool!  will try this tonight.

medyo nauubusan na nga ako ng pasensiya dito sa gt-10.  the clean models are nice, but the moment you start adding gain, the distortion doesn't sound musical  (i came from a vox tonelab, which had very musical gain characteristics - kahit anong pihit ng knob, maganda ang labas).  with the gt, no matter what output i choose (jc-120, small, combo, return, line/phone) and no matter how low i set the patch level or the output level knob, "magaralgal" palagi yung distortion.  i even set my output level to -10 (guitar level output), pero no dice.

will try the gt-10 with a solid-state washburn bad dog tonight, baka lang hindi match yung gt ad vox amp.  if it still sounds bad, maybe there's something wrong with the gt...

Patience is a virtue as they say..You'll later find your own identity or trademark sounds.  What setting on my EQ may not fit for you due to our various configuration and equipment, specially what kind of perfect sound or ideal in our mind subjective ika nga. I even downloaded patches on the central but disaster din sa ear ko  Just think of GT as a your great tool bro. We are such a very lucky among other na nagkaroon ng GT while some can't afford one

Look, hear this demo http://bossgtcentral.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17917  Galing di ba. That guy has been with series of GT that's why well verse na siya. The magic power tools now's in your hand.....release it.... :-D

Had a discover new setting for high gain
Low cut      = Flat
Low Gain    = +5db
Lo Mid F     = 500hz to 1khz
Lo Mid Q     =0.5  experiment on this by step increment
Lo Mid Gain =+10db
Hi Mid F      = 6.3khz
Hi Mid Q      =1     experiment on this
Hi Mid Gain  =+10db
High Gain    = -20db  this I usually cut
High Cut     = Flat
Level+        = 0db

ah did a lot of tweaking and finally got this - a fix to make the Vox AD50VT-XL and GT-10 work in 4CM!

- set the output "type" of the GT-10 at "JC-120 return"
- at the effects loop: send level at full, return level at 9 o'clock
- set the global output level to 12 o'clock
- set main out level to -10
- at patch EQ: notch at 1k, do "high-cut" to get close to the original sound of the vox

it still needs more tweaking, but this has been the best the Valvetronix has sounded through the GT-10 so far. the future looks good!

thanks for the advice rogeryu :-D will send some patches soon!

the last zoom i ever had was a 4040 :-D.  my only advice, dapat hardcore tweaker ka.  mataas yung frustration factor ng gt-10: at least 3 eq modules, 6 or more volume levels, etc.  super flexible siya, pero kung kulang ka sa pasensiya, papaiyakin ka niyan (on my 3rd day, napaisip akong itinda na lang hehe).  it's easier to use than the other gt's because of the EZ tone wizard, but to get the most out of it, it took me a week to dial in my sound.

pero kung OC ka at mahilig sa pindot-pindot... heaven :-D

Tube has lifespan same with your light bulb, though it may still lit for some time but will not give you the same performance. You'll need maintenance just like a tube amp, just ask first if you can buy spare tube if needed. Lahat naman ng MFX may pros and cons, yet still no MFX is perfect maybe near to come we can't say. We can't endorse you the GT10 but at least we can suggest. I'm a Zoom user too and still have my 505 Japan made and 1010 which I sold it out, but hey I love them both they are great sounding MFX then for me and still now.

Cheers,
Roger

nice playing :-D, were you using 2 preamp models?

btw just got myself a crate powerblock for the gt-10... perfect perfect match!  the pb's power amp is clean and loud, perfect for modellers.  i use it to drive a 4x12 cab with peavey scorpions - at 150 watts, it really pushes the speakers for a tight bass thump. it sold for as low as 50 dollars brand new sa states - think about it, that's as cheap as a digitech bad monkey.  if you can order them from abroad, it's a real good buy.

Ok nga review ng Crate powerblock. It's a full range and good for preamp modeller. Di na rin ata kailangan ng DI box at may speaker modelling pa. kaso walang source pa rin dito eh, does anyone know here kung available na kaya dito ....wish i could have too.
150W RMS total output
3-band EQ
Gain and level controls
Class D power supply
Right and left stereo 1/4" 4-ohm outs
Mono 1/4" 8-ohm out
Balanced XLR line out with level control and speaker modeling
Stereo headphone out with speaker modeling
Stereo RCA CD inputs
1/4" left and right stereo line ins
1/4" TRS effects loop
10"W x 3"H x 5-1/2"D
4-1/2 lbs.
Heavily padded carrying case
6' detachable power cord
4" patch cord
5-year transferrable warranty

BTW yes, dual L/R preamp gamit ko.

Roger

Dear GT10 users,

Do you use the noise gate for High Gain pre amp settings? If yes, Sang part siya ng FX chain mo nakalagay, and do you have any sweet settings where the sustain is not compromised. If no, why? Hehehehe.

Thanks.

Kailangan ng NG if hi gain setting but just tweak NG enough to less compromise the sustain needed. I don't know what's your hi gain level set up and sweet definition is but surely NG would touch some results on it. In GT10, I usually set it to INPUT parameter though you can set it to NS INPUT and move the NS where you most want the noise to be gated like in a real pedal chain, I do have Boss NS2 pedal and my own DIY expander noise gate just the same when using it with my Dr Boogey and Metal zone pedal.

Ok, marami na rin lang tayong nga owner let's have this thread open again kung gusto nyo lang naman.

HARMONIC CONVERGER gadget is one famous in FIZZ combat according to many reviews and here's one:
http://www.nargalzius.com/blog/archives/2007/06/2007_06_01_1017AM.php

Unfortunately very expensive and they don't ship abroad now just with in US na lng.
But I got a tip from GT brilliance on how to mimic HC and using Equalizer, here I took a picture of HC mimic I set up on my GT display mode

EQ panel
Low Cut 55hz
Low Gain 0db
Lo mid F 4.00khz
Lo mid Q 8
Lo mid G +1db
Hi mid F 8.00 khz
Hi mid Q -11db neg
Hi gain +20db
Hi cut 4.00khz
Level +1db

Try it you'll see the benefit  :-)

AUTO manual mode

If you want to save CTRL when switching to MANUAL MODE this is one way to do it.

Current patch press Master/Pldfx
go to Assign select any TAB number
TARGET Manual
ManualModeSw
MIN Off
MAX On
SOURCE Input Level
SCR MODE Moment
ARCRNGLO 0
ARCRNGHI 127

Press Master/Pdlfx to switch ON the function
Go to TAB9 make INPUT SENS - 100
Press WRITE to save the patch

When the GT detect an input sound (even muted string) it will switch ON to Manual Mode and you can perform your routine with MANUAL MODE.
When there's NO sound, the MANUAL MODE will switch OFF and return to PATCH mode and you can switches to other patch
I only assigned this function on USER01-1 co'z it's my universal patch and I do have several control needed on this patch..
Hope you may also use it.

Enjoy,

@Champz i'll answer your PM question here in the thread so we could share it to other.
Regarding global volume loudness i'm afraid there is not other global setting, you could only set the patch volume individually. But i got one technique say you record a clean volume on patch one with phrase loop then play it, use the dial now to call other patch and set the loudness by comparing it.

Regarding AUDACITY you should set first the playback and recording preference.
In audacity select EDIT menu, choose preference, select playback device -GT10 and recording device-GT10 channel stereo and check the box  Play other tracks while recording new one.

After recording you can export it to MP3 format but first you need to download LADSPA plugin for you to convert it to MP3, it's one time installation, here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows

Enjoy it,
Roger
